More than 12 years after its release, Sony's last gen console still has a few notable games on the way this year; Mouse PI for Hire, Mina the Hollower, Ariana and the Eldar Codex, Bubsy 4D...

It has a 2027 release scheduled in Mega Man Dual Override.

That's the equivalent of say a PS1 game releasing in 2008, or the PS3 getting a mainstream release in 2020.

Well, with a digital store it is a lot easier to release a few titles per year for and older platform than for old consoles with only physical games.

But the PS1 also got a few games in 2008 and the years after that:

Total misinformation. I've looked up every one of those games.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I looked up every one of those. Why post something so wildly inaccurate?

PS4 was a great f***ing system.

Just about the only flaw other than modern DRM and stuff that plagues everyone was the lack of backwards compatibility. Even with those factors in mind, PS4 is still great.

If it weren't for the SSD and backwards compatibility with PS4, I think people would be harsher on PS5 than they already are.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

"Let go your earthly tether, enter the void, empty and become wind." - Guru Laghima

Makes sense since if something is releasing on the Switch 1 it won't be a challenge at all to get it to run on the PS4 so it'll probably keep getting releases here and there till Switch 1 support starts drying up. I wonder how long EA Sports FC will keep releasing on it since it took till 2019 till that dropped the PS3 and 360.

Why wouldn't it be?

PS4 and Xbox One are still pretty powerful machines. They still play the most popular games fairly well.

Also, consoles are so expensive now. So last gen machines are still great for people on a budget.

I feel sorry for the kids. When I was a kid, I got to see the game industry go from NES all the way to PS2 in a matter of just fifteen years. Creativity, innovation and technology were absolutely blazing, defining and then redefining what gaming meant, over and over and over again. It was truly astounding.

But these kids?

I mean... they're basically playing the same console from kindergarten all the way to high school. Compared to what I had, that's about as depressing as it gets.

Nah, I'm an old hat too, but I don't consider myself lucky for having had to go through different stages of shitty to get to where we are now.

I feel sorry for you if you consider these genns "shitty" in 20 years time this time of gaming will also be " shitty:" but back then it whas modern gaming.

My youtube gaming page.

When my Vader PS4 died (thanks kids and an electrical storm) I ended up buying a Pro.
When I bought a PS5 the PS4 Pro moved downstairs with the kids and they used their money to buy a 2 ? TB external drive for it (might have been a 4 TB drive, I don't remember.)
The PS4 that was there ended up moving into my bedroom to replace the PS3 that was just being used to play DVDs once or twice a year.
In total I think I bought 3 PS4s and 1 PS4 Pro (used). I bought a used PS5 but have no intention of getting a PS5 Pro, I barely play the PS5 as it is.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still getting games during the PS6 era too.

If he's being honest about his age, he's not being honest with himself. And if he's not being honest with himself, then convincing him otherwise is akin to playing tag with his shadow. It can't be done. Not online, anyway.

Dude, don't do that. It's one thing to disagree with someone, but it's quite another to insist he's not being honest with himself. That's supremely messed up, and a quick and easy way to destroy a conversation. Show a little respect and try to debate in good faith. And build an argument without calling into question your opponent's ability to think rationally.
