It absolutely amazes me Bandai Namco for whatever reason still either skips Switch or releases a Switch version later. For the first 2 years I can understand, but the fact they are the ONLY Japanese game company not actively trying to put games on Switch day one is insane. At least with the other Japanese companies if a game legit cannot run on the Switch it's understandable why it cannot release on it. Even Falcom now is doing day one Switch/Switch2 games and everyone knows how Playstation favored they are. Bandai Namco does have Switch games day one with other versions, but the fact they have Switch games still release like a year later than other versions is crazy.

Bandai Namco isn't alone, Atlus and Konami are also not Nintendo day one publishers, with Konami probably not even making late ports of their games to Nintendo consoles. Those publishers will continue to focus on PS, Xbox and PC no matter what.

Looking at Atlus they had their Persona game 3 and 4 day one, Persona 5 Strikers, Persona 5 Tactica, Persona 5 Royal released day one with the other platforms (outside PS4), Raidou Remasterd, SMT 5, SMT5V, and Unicorn Overlord. Soul Hackers 2, Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor Refantazio cannot run on Switch. Konami has a lot of day one Switch releases outside of the games that can't run on it like Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill F, Meta Gear Solid Delta, etc. I cannot think of late Switch ports from these companies except for Catherine and Persona 5 Royal from Atlus. Bandai Namco has a lot of Switch late releases. God Eater 3, DB FighterZ, DBZ Kakarot, DBZ Sparking Zero, Digimon Time Strangers, One Piece Odyssey, etc.

Man, MTFever did not have a solid start. Performed worse than even Ultra Smash for the Wii U, from what I can tell. Nintendo really needs to consider variable pricing— selling a Mario spinoff sports game spinoff for $70USD was a mistake IMO. That’s a very niche market of consumers who will be eager to purchase.

(That and the marketing for this game really just felt like Nintendo had nothing more to say than “There are 38 characters!!” Whereas Tennis Aces had me pumped, Fever was more of an “Well, I really like Mario Tennis, so this is a Day One purchase for me.”)

Switch is just hovering over the cliff lol

How much Switch 1 Mario Tennis has sold in Japan? And when was it released?
