[Weekly Software & Hardware Sales] Switch 2 version of "FF7 Remake Intergrade" starts at the top! "Dynasty Warriors Origins" and "Un:Logical" also rank in the top 10 [1/19-1/25]

Famitsu's sales rankings. This time, we bring you a summary of estimated weekly sales figures for game software and hardware from January 19th to January 25th, 2026 in Japan.

The FF7 Remake Project is a trilogy of reimagined versions of the classic RPG Final Fantasy VII. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade which adds many new features to the first installment, has been released. Features such as game boost and double speed settings have been implemented to make the game more enjoyable to play and these features have been well-received, helping it to take the top spot.

Coming in at number 5 is the Switch 2 version of the tactical action game Dynasty Warriors: Origins, which is also making its debut. The major downloadable content "Four Heroes of the Dream World" was released on the same day as the game's release and this too is likely to see continued sales.

Coming in at number six is Un:Logical, in which you play as the heroine who is forced to log into the world of a VR game, where she comes into contact with five young men. By interacting with them you can enjoy each of their individual routes in this text adventure. The latest title in a genre with a large female fanbase is selling well.

King Switch 2 slaying like the was no tomorrow

Mari Kart numbers are slacking, better pick up the pace or be beaten by a 6 year old game

23k is how I imagined it to sell: Bad

Plataform exclusivity was never an issue, it was japanese tastes changing and moving away from JRPGs generation after generation. Even more so for a IP like FF with drastic changes in gameplay for every entry

Final Fantasy will simply never be a huge name again in the market, no matter is what platform it's being sold

I'm inclined to believe DQ XII will sell significantly less than what DQ XI sold (in Japan) as well

That's why I don't believe that "strong start" statement that began on Twitter when they posted out of stock images from retailers. Those retailers stock low amounts of "physical" copies to begin with. So shipments were probably quite low as SE knew going into this week what pre-orders looked like.

FF7 remake definitely bombed on Switch 2. The only thing that will give it some possible legs might be the budget pricing. Let's see how that goes. Rebirth is likely going to suffer the same fate but maybe they will add in a god mode for that title too to make it easier for the Switch buyers to get into it.

The term “bombed” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. We’re talking about a port of a 6 year old game that goes for around $10-20 on PS4, PS5, and PC. It has already sold well over 1mil in JP alone at this point, and still debuts as the strongest third-party NS2 launch to date.

There’s also the additional note that even still FF7I debuted better on NS2 than PS4/PS5 (though this is with the added caveat that (i) FF7I was selling for the equivalent of $70USD back in 2021 versus $40USD in 2026, and (ii) Intergrade is a free update for PS5 owners who already owned Remake).

All-in-all, these are nothing short of solid. Nothing fantastic but also nothing to be upset with. Big question now is how the legs of this game will hold up— I’m thinking this is likely where we’ll see the game really shine.

NS2 holding strong. Curious to see how it’ll do during a week without a big release… these past two saw AC:NH (NS2 Edition) and FF7Intergrade. Would like to see if Switch 2 can hold legs of 60k or higher.

Is FF VII Remake sold on a Game Key Card?

Good Switch 2 numbers again. If 60-70k ends up being the baseline then it'll have a really strong 2026 in Japan. Compared to the Spain numbers it looks like the system could end up doing great in Japan this year and decent to good elsewhere especially considering that this isn't even the maximum demand for it over there yet. The Switch 1 is back to being in line with expectations though above 15k is still good and it's a similar story with it about 60% down here though about 75% down in Spain. And the PS5 is below 10k again which is not an ideal sign.

I don't know why people are saying FF VII Remake was bombed on Switch 2, They don't overship games like this, its too risk, so in me opinion the initial sales were expected (something like 20-30k).
