Forums - Nintendo - 2026 - What Nintendo IPs that skipped Switch will come to Switch 2?

I think they got everything released between Switch 1 and Switch 2. Rhythm Heaven is the last one I wanted, but it's great we got new Mario Kart, Donkey Kong 3D and Metroid Prime last year. Surprised when they released Clubhouse games, Brain Training, Switch Sports... loved those touch generation games.

Now I want my single player Splatoon and the next installments of Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, Mario and Zelda.

Wish granted

I know, just hope it is the full single player adventure I thought was possible since the release of Splatoon 1.

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

We deserve Star Fox

The lack of Lylat wars getting a decent release since the N64 is freaking depressing.

Earthbound, F-Zero...

I got my Metroids, so I am happy there...

But you all should hand in your Nintendo badges for not mentioning "Eternal Darkness".

Does Nintendo own that IP?  I thought Silicon Knights owned it.  But to be fair, I don't really know for sure.

Edit

It is owned by Nintendo.  Never knew that.  Thanks for the learning.

Sin & Punishment, NintendoLand, StarFox and 1080° are my guesses

I'd kill just for a HD collection of Sin n Punishment. Esp the Wii game.

Treasure could definitely use the work. Last I heard (several years now), there's less than 20 employees over there, and its last game was on the 3DS 12 years ago!

Since we're port-dreaming, let's go even bigger: an HD collection with the original N64 game and a version of it with modern assets that is fine-tuned for modern dual analog controls, along with the Wii sequel HD-ified with control options for IR Joycons, mouse and dual analog.

Star Fox

ADVENTURES

2

In order of most wanted...

1. Earthbound (not gonna happen)
2. Pokemon (Yes I know we got Pokemon games on switch, but I want a HD-2D style main line game)
3. StarFox
4. Golden Sun
5. F-Zero
6. Mario Baseball

"If new things are so great, where have they been the whole time?"

Biggest ones I want are

F-Zero
Mario Baseball
1080 Snowboarding
Wave Race
Excitebike
Wario platformer

If Endless Ocean was able to get a new entry on the Switch, I'm sure these other franchises could be given a chance too!

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

F-Zero is a lock imo, especially getting an Air Riders game and so many updates to 99. I also think Star Fox is locked to come back too, but I think it will be a complete re-invention of the IP. My left-field one is Earthbound, which I think will get a high profile remake and maybe a localization of Mother 3 finally. All leading to a Mother 4 would be the dream, but that might be asking for too much
