It’s crazy to think that DKBananza only had three months between reveal and launch. MKWorld could also be argued as not having a full reveal until only two months prior to launch. Same goes for EoW, SMPJamboree, Mario Wonder, and so many others.

I really do respect this approach as it leaves fans not needing to wait too long for a title to release.

It's way too soon for a new 3D Zelda. Even if for some reason Nintendo scales it down from the latest two, I see no way it launches in 2026.

I'm still hoping for an Ocarina of Time remake/reimagined. It could be a third party team with help from Nintendo/Monolith.

Especially if Nintendo are going the route of these more open ended Zelda games it would be a nice way to pay homage to the game that truly redefined 3D adventures, bring it into a modern playable form for new generations and be something that could tie into the film which would launch the following spring.

Nice list you got there in the OP. Games that I am looking forward to which are not listed there are the following:

  • Mouse Work
  • STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions
  • Witchbrook

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

Now we have "Project M" from bloober team.

From the rumours there is COD and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 as new additions;Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 and The Witcher 3 as Switch 2 upgrades

I find hard to believe there wont be a general direct coming soon

We reap what we sow

Imho, so far, 2026 seems like a very weak year for Ninty.

Depends what releases when. Splatoon Raiders could be the actual sequel the franchise needed after 2 and 3 feeling too samey. If they double down on an actual meaty single player content then I am all for it and my expectations are very high. It is a well regarded series with lots of fans, so they should take care and give it the proper development it needs.

We can't really conclude that yet as nowadays Nintendo typically doesn't announce their games for the latter half of the year til their February or even June Directs.

We currently only really know their lineup for the first 4 months or so of 2026.

Fair enough, it's indeed too soon.

But considering what we know ATM, it's looking weak, imho.

Yeah Nintendo's annoying secrecy these days does kinda mean that at the end of one year/the start of the other we don't have a strong slate of confirmed first party games.

Thankfully, that's normally remedied when the first Direct of the year rolls in, which is usually in Feb.

Besides typos, let me know if I missed anything. Unless there is strong evidence for a title being released in the very near future (e.g. Pikmin 3 Deluxe [Nintendo Switch 2 Edition] leaked via PEGI), I have opted not to include such a title on this list. This is intended to be an organized collection of all major releases hitting the system, not a list of rumors. (Though maybe that'd be a good idea for a separate thread... rumored Switch 2 games. Hm.)
