The return of Jesus is very soon, wouldn't be surprised if its in the next 10 years

Is there a reason to believe that it will happen soon, even if one is a Christian? I’m not really clued in.

Jesus has been coming back "soon" for over a thousand years, I wouldn't read into it.

Human beings are fantastically adoptable beings. Whatever happens a way will be found. It always had.

The world is broken and has always been broken.

The people 100 years ago more than likely had similar mindset as you considering 100 years ago the world was still recovering from World War 1 and the 1918 Flu and was paving way to what would become World War 2, The great depression, etc.

Yet despite all that, humanity is where it is now, despite all the horrible things that may have happened in between - humanity has prospered to a point in life where at least in the history books have never been better.

There's no point in worrying about things you cannot control and instead focus your energy on things you can control. This world has gone through so much and it will continue to go through so much more regardless of whether you or anyone is alive or not anymore in this world.

Instead of worrying about AI, the political spectrum of things, media, etc - focus on yourself and in extension like its your arm - family.

Surround yourself with toxic thoughts and people - and you'll become just like that as well - doesnt matter if you are left, right, conservative or liberal, extremism breeds extremism and misery loves company - focus on yourself, it might sound selfish but its the best thing one can do in this world.

I know this isn't what admins wanna hear, but non-violent solutions against corrupt politicians have proven incredibly ineffective. It's time for vigilante justice against certain leaders and their cronies.

Bolsonaro was pratically sentenced to death a couple of months ago. I'm  talking about Lula and his squad.

Back in 2013 we had a "not-so pacifist" protest in Sao Paulo and around the country. It showed some results and that incompetent Dilma Rousseff fell a couple of years later.

Today we are basically hostages from the supreme court and Lula. More and more crimes from the government ends in absolutely nothing. You may not believe it, but if someone is caught badmouthing the government, they may end up in jail, and I'm not exaggerating.

The last hope is kicking Lula out of the power next year. If he wins again (and that actually may happen), I see no future for my country too.

I'm Brazillian as well, and I can guarantee anyone reading this that even as I agree that our government is a massive piece of shit, regardless of who is in charge, the notion that one may end up in jail simply by badmouthing the government is a complete lie.

People do it on a daily basis, and the only time in our modern history where that was true was during the military dictatorship, pre dating both me and Alex, we both never lived in a country where that holds true.

The supreme court is not holding anyone hostage.

Like always, at least since I was born, the only hostages is this country are the poor, which is A LOT of us.

The poor go to jail, the law works wonders to punish them.

The rich and politicians have to do extremely absurds ammounts of shit to get a slap in the wrist. I kid you not that one politician literally received the police in his home with rifle gunshots and grenades, and nothing happened to him. Meanwhile if you are poor you may eat a bullet by simply walking the street home and crossing the wrong person (even a policeman).

Our country IS a piece of shit, and our current government IS really bad (even as the previous one was a lot worse), but what is written in the post I'm quoting is sadly exactly what you guys are experiencing in the USA with the Trump propaganda affecting people there.

Alex is a very nice person, but sadly like what happen with many other people here and there in the USA as well, seems like one sided politics is getting the best of him.

Well, it's not that bad. If we go 150 years back, world is pretty much in a similar situation it was back then. It's likely that the nation states start to take back their sovereignity from the global capital, like they did back in the day. It's likely to increase birth rates and wellbeing. I think Brexit and election of Trump have been steps for the right direction. The problem is, that you can't make an omelett without breaking the eggs.

As for data centers and AI, AI is going to start spending money and become an active user of money, just like women did when they entered the workforce in the first place, after that only the available processing power is limiting financial growth and technically everyone can get a job and live off of a money they make from the job.
