Unpopular opinion, Halo Reach is the best in the series.

Yeah it's my pick for the best as well.

The whole "doomed last stand" concept was really compelling and as Bungie's last game their core gameplay was at its best.

Likely won't buy except on sale for $20 or less. I've bought it like 3 times already.

I bought it on:
* OG Xbox.
* PC.
* Xbox 360 - Anniversary.
* Xbox One - Master Chief Collection.
* PC - Master Chief Collection.

I am down for buying it and playing it again on launch.
Been supporting every Halo release in the hopes for a new decent game or a remake of Halo 3... Or hoping to see a few Xbox Live accounts from 20+ years ago come to life for that one last match.

Halo 3 for me. I never did replay Reach after I completed it.

Halo 3 was just different at the time.
It spent over a year as the most popular game on Xbox Live until CoD dethroned it, it sold gangbusters, it had great visuals for the time.

I play Halo for the campaign, so I honestly found 3 a bit underwhelming; it was hyped up at the time as this unbelievably epic finale but it felt more like a series of skirmishes. It's not remotely bad mind you, but I liked 1, 2, and Reach more.

Halo1,2 and 3 for me. While I enjoyed Reach, I barely finished it kinda got bored. I only bought Halo once but played the heck out of it so I will definitely get this remaster. I am just hoping that its giving every attention it deserves.

I got annoyed with the Cortana interruptions in 3.

I only play the campaign as well, granted coop with the wife.

To play split screen both players will need a unique Microsoft/PS Plus account, holy shit what a travesty

Requiring 2 paid PS plus subscriptions is just crazy. Even 1 is already ridiculous for a local co-op experience.

I hope the backlash is big enough to resolve because it's just truly insane. There must just be a point where self reflection shows the relevant parties how much they're damaging the simple joy of sitting down and playing a game with family and friends. For me it's a real breaker, if I can't play split screen I'll skip the game or get it second hand.

Curious who is to blame here, obviously other Playstation games like it takes 2 allow you to just play as a guest or sign in a regular account.

Why does it even need a MS account to play the game, as long as your logged in on PlayStation or Steam?

That is one of the things I HATE on steam, if you have to make different accounts for games.
Just let me be on Steam and be happy ffs.

That seems so stupid to me.

This is the sort of stuff that gives games bad word of mouth (i.e "avoid this game").
This stuff effects sales.

Yeah requiring this just to play splitscreen is insane.

I can't fathom who on Earth thought this would be a good idea, it's a perfect example of taking a simple concept that has worked fine since the 1990s and being like "how can we make this worse for no reason."

Hopefully they reverse course on this cos holy cow.

People complain about the mandatory ubisoft account but this is taking it to a whole new level.

Mandatory MS account for SPLITSCREEN players. What a joke, brain-dead developers lol.

If you set the PS5 to primary your subscription is shared with all other users so I imagine two ps+ subs will be unnecessary as long as you do that.

But insane that they have messed it up this bad, no other game needs an account for a second splitscreen player and other games allow even splitscreen online with one ps+ sub.

Probably means splitscreen mode doesn't even work without an internet connection lol.
