You don't need PS+ for splitscreen they just screwed up the messaging. Ofc you still need a mandatory MS account for splitscreen players though lol.

How do you mess up something as simple and important, as this?
That is a massive f*** up, that has now goes around the net.... which alot of people, likely won't find out, and have now been turned off the whole thing?

Also slightly better, but still.... 2 Playstation accounts, and 2 MS accounts, to play a offline single player game? Bro....

That is like a small bandaid for a gunshot wound.

And that's if you want to play 2-player splitscreen; if you wanna play 4 player splitscreen like we did with the original game in 2001, do we need 4 separate Microsoft accounts?

Needing accounts for local multiplayer is in itself just such a ridiculous requirement.

Okay yeah that’s what I was thinking, just miscommunication. Otherwise that would be a bafflingly poor call. It shouldn’t be a problem to simply have extra guest accounts loaded on your PS5 for when people wanna play split-screen.

whatever, day 1 on steam

Also the PC version does not have splitscreen support. I dunno why that feature gets removed from PC releases lol.

Really? They must assume PC players do not have friends coming over?!?
So much for PC master race.

Might as well just emulate the OG at that point if you’re looking for some classic Halo 1 couch co-op. It’s quite an easy thing to do I’d imagine, though if I’ve learned anything from emulating XB360, maybe it’s a bit more complicated than I’m led to believe. (You can also purchase MCC on Steam.)

MCC on steam also does not have Splitscreen. You can enable it with a mod.

It's stupid but this has been going on ages. Even Left4Dead removed it but can be enabled with console commands.

I don't know why some developers insist on removing splitscreen from PC releases. Especially now that PCs are increasingly being used elsewhere, such as in living rooms rather than just at a desk.

Yeah call me old fashioned, but a remake shouldn't have worse functionality than the original game. Didn't need any of this nonsense back on the original Xbox.
