Oh look, it’s another thread where folks get to yell at Nintendo for…making products that people will buy at premium prices without deep discounts because they’re that damned good even 15 years later.

Evil Nintendo making games that we just can’t resist. Damn you!

To be fair, nintendo is very greedy and doesn't treat its fanbase, customer base and contractors very well. At the end of the day, no company is our friend or deserves our loyalty and they should be criticised for their greedy practices amd other shitty behaviour.

All it takes if people dislike Nintendo's business is to just stop buying their consoles and games. Its obvious that the extreme rage people feel about Nintendo is all about them knowing that they can't stop themselves from buying Nintendo's stuff, even though they hate them. That love-hate relationship all these people feel about Nintendo is what causes the extreme rage, while no one has a love-hate relationship with Xbox.

Nah its not how that works. Uncoordinated boycotts like these don't work. Plus greed is about squeezing more when you know you can. So validating that greedy by saying "hey people are still buying" doesn't make Nintendo good or not bad. It's still bad what their practices are. It doesn't even address how punitive they are about emulation and how much disdain they seem to have for their own fans. Finally, it doesn't excuse how they treat their contractors. Not the full time employees at Nintendo but rather the contractors.

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

I know I'm in the very small minority; a dying breed, but, I would have happily purchased 7 Remake on Switch 2 for full price to be completely on cart. Since its a game-key card, no matter how discounted, I'll pass.

Also, Galaxy 1+2 are 2 of the greatest games of all time and worth full price :P

You may be part of a small minority but I assure you you’re one of a very vocal group that I see on social media. Your voice is well represented. 😂😂😂

I'm all digital, and really am not in the market for any physical, but the physical market is obvious... Full games, on game card, without need of patching or downloads of any sort to play... these should be available, and it's silly that companies are not making this available. That's essentially what the other people in my Nintendo fandom family want.

Is there anyone who actually wants download codes? I don't, and I don't think the physical market do either. Download codes shouldn't be the future, they should be a relic of the past... before we had dedicated digital download platforms.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Agreed, but I can never see myself going physical again outside of the rare collectors editions I buy that I never open. For those I would absolutely only buy it if it was complete on cart. Of course, I’m usually paying a premium for that item. I’d imagine folks wouldn’t want to pay $10-$20 more for a “complete on cart” edition and I’d imagine while that could solve one problem it might greatly exacerbate another. Tough time for collectors and physical gamers.

Why would they care if people are just going to buy it anyways?

Contractors know what they are getting into when they become contractors.  You get a contract for one year, and after a year you can sign a new contract if they need you, or move on.  It's really common for many companies when it comes to accountants.  My uncle has a new accounting job every 12 months as his contracting ends with one and starts with another.

The game for preorder in Australia was significantly more in the first two weeks.

I guess they dropped the price when they realised no one is paying premium for game-key-cards.

the irony is they could charge their first week price they had if it was full on cart.

You know I am talking about working conditions and not contract periods.
