Forums - Gaming - XBox Series S/X Getting Another Price Increase (Tarrifs)

If you're in the US you're going to be paying more for a lot of stuff for a while. And tarrifs/Trump tax is one reason.

Companies are smart they're not going to just raise the price on everything overnight, it will be a show and gradual process, game consoles and accessories will come first.

You might as well get used to this range of pricing.

Just to add to your statment of fact. All consoles, all cards, anything with a complex chip in it. Buy it now, do not wait until things get better cause they won't for anything less than a war and ensuing peace, in the near future.

Let me guess: You have no clue how mass manufacturing works (I do).

What Hardstuck is trying to tell you is correct, condensed into a single sentence.

Under normal conditions he might be correct but when it comes to prices in the US everything is affected by the massive illegal tariffs implemented by Trump no matter how mass-produced they are. All consumer goods have seen an increase in prices due to the tariffs.

Tariffs are going to add some cost, but nothing compared to the savings of mass manufacturing. This is part of the reason why PS5 can remain cheaper. They're still having parts mass manufactured for them due to strong sales, so the pricing for those PS5 parts remains very low.

Non mass manufacturing vs mass manufacturing, can cut the cost of parts for a product in half. Now MS shouldn't be facing quite a doubling in price due to far less parts being needed because of very poor sales, but it's going to be considerably more expensive than it was back when XB Series sales were decent.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

Tarrifs are going to add a 20-30% premium on most game consoles. Might as well get used to it if you live in the US. It's a tax and Americans will have no choice but to pay for it at least until for the next few years.

What's hilarious to me is as soon as a liberal takes over, he/she is going to drop all tariffs, open up foreign trade and suddenly, everything on the shelf is going to get cheaper again... which will make the conservatives who backed all this look like they can't govern the economy.

Of course, if you're looking in the right direction instead of the one Trump and all of the people in Washington that's doing his bidding are pointing at, you can clearly see this was never about bringing jobs back to the US. It's a shepherds vs. sheep thing. And there's not much that can be done about it.

Nah, they will rewrite history and blame it all on the new Democrat President. That's what happened to Obama when the economy tanked in 08 under Bush.

Tariffs is not the only thing affecting the price increase of the XBox the falling value of the dollar which was also mentioned in this thread is also adding to the price increases.  The PS5 and XBox Series X are pretty much the same hardware so they have pretty much the same basic costs to manufacture.  Mass manufacturing does not make that much of a difference in cost especially if you have rising costs of goods hence, we have had no official price cuts in consoles since the seventh generation of consoles.

The tariffs are not helping out with goods made in the US either since most stuff that is made here, is made with some imported goods so that will cause it to become more expensive.

Yes, the sheep in their stable will eat what they tell them to eat. But it's the moderates without a party affiliation that win elections. And they aren't so blind. Easily provoked and tricked, maybe. But not enough to convince them that milk and eggs being cheaper isn't a good thing.

Both parties have sheep in them that blindly believe what they are told.  it's funny when someone calls the other party sheep.  The moderates are shrinking in the USA and getting booted out of both parties.
