Forums - Nintendo - Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to Switch 2

Will get it if it finally gets a proper physical release, but its definitely going to be a GKC or a CIAB release.

We can only hope for a proper physical release.

Nintendo needs to crack down on this shit. I am starting to hate the switch 2 because of these GKC and CIAB bullshit

Two things are very noteworthy here: it is the first sign that MS is supporting Switch 2. Weird choice also, I think Oblivion remaster would've been the obvious target, also maybe Grounded 2 or so. But either way, hopefully it means more is coming. Secondly it is a game with some power needs, not a simple indie or so. So it will be interesting to see how well it runs on Switch2.

Oblivion on the S2 sounds awful.  Ran like crap on my 4090 and I found it to be an un-optimized mess.  Can't imagine how it would run on the S2.  I am half serious and half joking.  But no, they would need to actually put effort into the port.  I loved the game but good God is was a mess.  I think I was at 1440p, low RT and medium settings across the board and still had drops in the 70 fps range.

Yeah it is nice to get an indication that MS will support the system, and a curious first choice.

I would have expected say Forza Horizon 5 or Sea of Thieves before Indiana, but I'm not complaining as this is something I would actually buy.

It's kinda fitting too in a way as it mirrors another ambitious port of a MachineGames title in the second year of Switch, with Wolfenstein II.

It seems like most current gen Switch 2 ports are gonna be rough. Hopefully Microsoft can do a better then what we are seeing now.

I don't know, it kinda makes sense for them to put it on S2 - it is both critically acclaimed and people seem to like it, it's very nice looking and fairly graphically demanding (so they can be in CP2077 "NS2 showcase" tier) and if they pack it onto physical cart, it can be indicator of what is MS willing to do in the future on Switch 2 - maybe Oblivion Remastered, even though that game really runs like shit on everything, but I'd probably bet on Outer Worlds 2, since the first one is on Switch.

We have pretty good sources saying Forza, Halo, MS Flight Simulator, and Starfield are coming to the Switch 2 ... it just so happened that Indiana Jones was announced first.

Likely Nintendo is saving the Halo and Forza announcements for a big Nintendo Direct at some point this fall.

Indiana Jones runs good on Steam Deck, so i dont think this will be a problem for this game.

Depends on the port team and effort.

This does not look promising.

That is entirely down to the 2050 only having 4 gigs of VRAM. The power gap between the 2050 and 8GB 3050 is big but the latter can run the game at 1080p 60fps so 30fps should be no problem for the Switch 2 considering how well optimized the game is. Hell with some DLSS maybe a 40fps mode could be doable.
