GOTY so far..

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 24 63.16%

Death Stranding 2 3 7.89%

Other 11 28.95%

Total:38

Been seeing a lot of people saying it's DS2 and it may be recency bias but I have started to see where they are coming from. What do ya'll think?

For me, I'm let down by too many aspects of DS2 so far like the music but it's so fucking good and I can already tell it's masterpiece level but I just can't see it eclipsing CO E33... yet. Love is a long road and DS2 is an amazing long road but it has a lot of flaws. DS2 feels to me like MGSV so much it still has a good chance, I'm not writing it off yet. One thing that can be said, these are the best graphics, acting and VA I have ever seem in a video game. It's absolutely wild. It's definitely a 10 for me unless something awful happens but E33 is my game of the generation.

Mario Kart World

Its Clair Obscur E33 for me, its the better more enjoyable experience. Granted, Im still early in DS2, but it hasnt been all that for me and i fear ill have to force myself to finish it rather than just do it for the enjoyability of the experience.

For me its between E33 and MH Wilds at this point. Havent played MKWorld but I hear that should be the other contender for GOTY at this point of the year. Dunno if id put DS2 in that conversation, but at least it has very strong reviews going for it. So theres that.

Ninja Gaiden.

I'm only 1/3 of the way through it but Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is excellent so far. Not even gonna try Death Stranding 2; I gave up on the first game after 4 hours because I was rapidly losing the will to live.

Jeff will give it to his boyfriend. The first one got 10! nominations, despite 'only' scoring 82 on Metacritic.

Honestly, if Kojima's name wasn't on Death Stranding 2, I could see that game struggling to get 80 Meta.

Yeah but that would be on yhe journalist writing it off and misunderstand8ng it like the first one. Game has a 9.3 on PSN reviews on 15k people and 8.9 on MC so gamers are agreeing. Yes this is far more niche than E33 but if you GET both game then you'll see how great both are on different levels.

That said and again, CO E33 is my GOTG.

Okay, Death Stranding 2 is out of the equation. I'm not disappointed, this is the best simulator game out there, maybe surpassing the first but my God is it hard to get caught into a 4 hour loop of micro managing supplies, infrastructure and simplifying the logistics of it all to go back to the main path and you simply do a Standard Order you pick up to increase supplies and infrastructure and get kind lost but it's a far inferior state of gameplay because it's just one delivery, recovery or elimination scenario when you'd usually have a a half dozen goals and a dozen more sun goals stacked in your mind just roaming around doing side stuff. Then they made the decision to separate the cutscenes out short and no big moments for so long and the game has lost what it was. It's the end game experience done better from the start but the core experience (which is definetly improved) loose something sticky. If this is a 10 it will be because of the Platinum but I can't see this being a 10 based on it's main path and even if it is a 10 when all is said and doen Expedition 33 is a far, far stronger 10. Something is lost from DS1, perhaps it's a game you shouldn't try to do twice.
