Hand's down, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. And that's coming from the person who never was a big fan of JRPGs 

DELTARUNE. And we only got like half the game so far. That's how insanely good and special it is.

Expedition 33 do be it, thats the goat this year and for good reason.
I was expecting MH Wilds to be it for me, but surprisingly it isnt. Its a comfortable second place tho.

Clair obscur Expedition 33. My game of the 9th generation so far. 

Next in line would be Khazan and Death Stranding 2 but both have a looooong gap and I doubt DS2 is going to be able to bridge the gap with a ladder but I'm open to it. If DS2 does it'll be for very different reasons. KCD2 has a chance but I have yet to dive deep into that game and because of the way it's designed it'll also be like DS2 where the creators go out of their way to make things just a little less enjoyable than they could be for immersion, I'm not sure either game has the possibility to eclipse CO E33. 

People saying 33. Should Try Shadow Hearts and Lost Odyssey if you like that battle concept. I can't think of a game that did it before Mario RPG. Also Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth does something similar. So worth looking into if you want more of that type of thing.

Maybe Expedition (until now), because I have to play Death Stranding 2, Donkey Kong Bananza, Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, Silent Hill F, Ghost of Yotei and Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar.

Expedition 33. Maybe only yotei can change it since tsushima was one of my favourite games on the ps4
