Yeah I remember a dev apparently posted online this image a couple of months ago that they had received this response from Nintendo when it came to requesting a Switch 2 dev kit

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind
Switch 2 is coming a bit too late on PS5 life to receive cross gen titles that can get quickly ported. Most of developers are probably still figuring out what they can do and will release their ports later
Since games now take 3 to 6 years to develop, it means all games announced this year by third parties are being in development for a couple of years already, so there is no point in adjusting an already set development pipeline. One example that comes to mind is Persona 4 Revival. Its a game clearly developed thinking only on PC, PS5 and XBOX, so it makes sense they will only announce the release on those platforms, yet the game is so far ahead they have time to try to port the game to Switch 2 and decide if it will be a day 1 release or not
Unlike Sony and MS, Nintendo needs to prove themselves before third parties give a shit.

Microsoft have said they are working to get Call of Duty on the Switch 2 I think. Supposedly there was going to be a direct soon so we might get more info if/when that happens.
If you are a 3rd Party publisher, why announce more games so soon. Especially if you released a game during the launch window, you want to give those games the best chance to succeed. You hope people will pick up your game because they are desperate (eager) to play new games on their new system. If you announce too much too soon maybe people will hold off instead to play those upcoming games.
Also dev times are longer these days so games releasing now or in the near future began development several years ago. It is not so easy to integrate a new platform into your development plans.
They may also wait to reveal their games at a Nintendo Direct for added exposure. So Nintendo's timing of Directs dictates the timing of certain announcements.
Lastly, there are so many other platforms to develop and release games on. It is always possible to port games to Switch 2 at a later date. Going forward they can now strategize how to include Switch 2 release in their strategy.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.
Nintendo consoles are secondary platforms, PlayStation and Steam are the priority.

Well, I only bought mine for first party games (yes; that's right; I now own a Switch 2; so the next person that comes to me and says I'm just trolling, or on a crusade, or just out to smear the Switch 2 or Nintendo, I am not even acknowledging you; rant over). I own a PS5. If I want third party, that's what I'll play them on. My Switch 2 is a Nintendo machine in this house, 100%. I also refuse to buy key-cards. Only physical media.
I don’t think Nintendo consoles are secondary I just they think that when you have a lot of platforms you play the version which is superior
We should really wait till the next Direct before wondering this. I imagine Nintendo has saved some big third party announcements for that so this should hopefully get cleared up some within a few weeks.
