Last edited by curl-6 - on 19 June 2025The Switch 2's second week is a bigger drop than the Switch 1 which isn't ideal since the latter had a shorter first week but considering the Switch had a record shattering launch it's no cause for concern at all since it's still a really strong second week. If there's stock issues in Japan currently then it must've exceeded expected demand there the most which wouldn't be surprising.
The PS5 had an ok week though will be back under 10k again soon with the sale over and the Switch really is gonna fall off very fast like the DS it seems. Sub 10k could happen quite soon thanks to demand for the OLED model collapsing. It wasn't even the best selling model this week and 1.5m for the year suddenly looks way less likely than it did a few weeks ago.

Wasn't expecting the PS4 version of Nightreign to comeback! When added digital and PC I believe it has a shot to move 200k units lifetime in Japan
NSW version of games should keep outselling NS2 version of the same games for at least 2 years, it was the time it took to PS5 versions to start consistently outselling PS4 versions
I wonder how many units the nintendo store is processing, since famitsu can't track units sold by nintendo directly.
for all we know switch 2 could already be at like 1.5 mil.
I'm a bit sad that Advanced Variable Geo only charted on it's first week with around 2.5k. Well, it probably sold a bit more digital, and the PS5 version didn't show up, so it could probably be at around 5k for now.
Anyway, it probably outsold the original Saturn version already.
With a lot of third party Switch 2 releases being Game Key Cards, the software charts will get increasingly less reflective of real-world sales as time goes on; rising digital ratios on all consoles were already doing this, but the effect should accelerate now as Switch 2 grows.
Dunno how much of the drop is due to lack of supply vs lack of demand. But, I have one small piece of anecdotal evidence.
I asked a coworker I know is a gamer if he got a Switch 2. He said no and asked me. When I said yes, he seemed surprised and asked how.
So, either my coworker is incompetent at finding stuff or its just not available right now here. And I would imagine the demand in Japan would be higher.

Game key cards will count to Famitsu as long they are sold at retail
