The Khazan devs have made yet another change to my single player game that I paid for with my money and I should own on my console that I own and paid for with money and for some reason I am not allowed to revert patches. In a game I own and paid for they broke my build again, a build that I own or at least I spent time on and time is money. The game I own no longer exists in the form I paid for it.

Should devs, asides from outright broken stuff make changes while people are in the middle of their games.... that they own and should be free to play it however. And should Sony/MS,Nintnedo have a system where patches can be reverted on singleplayer games?

In trying to "fix" their game they have severely negatively effected my experience. They changed attributes on a certain gear set which allows for extra stanima regen but now I have to go and rework my whole build as I had it tuned to just as much as I need. Also, don't say buy physical, 1.0 might be actually broken and need changes, you can not get a version inbetween that broken 1.0 and the broken latest patch. Just last week they changed another detail that made my old build non viable any longer. Nonsense.

I loath this modern day game dev paradigm (more of publishers though) that games are basically in Early Access for few years even when they went Gold and were released as "finished".

Patches should be technical patches that fix bugs and improve performance, not messing with core gameplay.

Exactly. This balance nonsense is just not on, you have your game put through a review cycle but it's pointless in the game is altered over time. And it's not just nerfs either, the same is true for buffs making the balance different from the reviews and it's borderline in need of regulations in favour of the consumer. 



It's a really backwards system in this business, where early adopters get the worst experience.



Any post-release content that arrives 3+ months later or more, I won't pay attention or care for, I would have moved on by then.

If a game is unplayable on release, then it will be viewed and reviewed negatively.

Aren't most of these patches for tech related stuff? How often are core gameplay mechanics actually being updated/ changed post release?

For Khazan they have ruined my build twice now, changing weapon attributes. I didn't look through the patch notes but something else feels off, despite rebuilding my stats the same the game feels more sluggish. 

It happens quite often in games these days, devs hate to see people having fun with their games. Diablo 4, I was playing that as a single player game was the worth case of it, I seen. Ruined so many peoples builds they lost the player base over it. Just a bit of fun and they, for some reason, have to patch it in the name of balance but what's the point of balance if they game is less fun.



Balancing changes in single player games are fucking dumb. It’s not my fault if I broke the game with mechanics that you the devs put in the game. Spoiling the game for myself with broken builds should be a me decision and not taken away coz the devs decide it’s “broke” …

I do like additions like adding more languages. Stellar Blade PC version introduced Japanese and Chinese next to the Koreon and English Voice Acting. I think this will help with legs. I could see Claire Obscure adding voiced languages down the line as well. It's a relative small investment, but would be appreciated by markets other then the original voiced ones.

It's exactly the same issue in every tec bussines. Early versions of phones and electronics, even cars, are more prone to failure

Why should games be different? 

It's really a consumers habits problem, rather than a industry problem. People have really strong FOMO, and instead of admiting them and making conscionous choices they choose to keep pre ordering games only to get angry they are not the perfect version realesed yet
