It's just Rockstar being Rockstar. They never met a deadline as far back as I can remember. Don't expect it to release on May 26th 2026 either, Q3 2026 earliest.

Well I guess I'll be playing it on the PS6 then.

I only recently played GTA V for the first time on the PS5.

Hope other publishers will start flooding release date announcements for the rest of the year.

If someone was able to up the announcement thread when they released the 2025 release date early on, you'll see how I was already convinced this was gonna be a 2026 release instead.

Totally understandable. I mean, twelve years? Who could expect a sequel in only twelve years?

I don't know if this matters to you but, if that's the first time you played it, you played a censored version. They took things out of the original version for PC reasons, and now the only way to play it as we all original did would be (I'm guessing) a modded PC build. Stupid phony internet activists.

(Early) holiday 2026 would be a fantastic time to drop new console hardware if you were MS at this point.

Raise existing hardware prices so unit sales get even weaker, making new upcoming hardware more enticing.

Good. Now the stuff I actually want maybe moved up and given real release dates. Despise the monopoly GTA has on other devs releases.
