I was going to play it on Gamepass, but with the unfortunate timing of the Oblivion drop, I figured I would toss them my money. Bought it on XBOX because of Play Anywhere. I like that I can move between XBOX and PC and use cloud saves. Game is bought, preloaded and ready to go.

Game is gonna be fucking awesome. Pay attention, Square.

And Atlus, eyes on what's happening here please. 🙂 also, nice one, that's mighty thoughtful of you, they probably are gonna need it, zero hype for this even after the review scores. A pity. They might get some buzz come the game awards, hopefully.

PSA: Stay away from social media for this game, there's a theme of people saying there are twists that can be easily spoiled that are central to enjoyment of the story.

This trophy list is concerning. https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/33395-clair-obscur-expedition-33 If these a journalist numbers they are pretty terrible. Only 30 percent of them finished the game and this is an exceptional (apparently) game with an easy mode for them. I wonder what the figures are when the game is less than Stellar.

I already maked the pre-downloaded, but i dont know if I'll play now (reason: Oblivion).

Yeah, that was a dick move by Bethesda. Not like they had an announced release date they needed to stick to or didn't know when Clair was coming out...

Hopefully CO is still the breakout success it seemingly deserves to be.

I half think it's an odd strategy by Bethesda and MS in general. GP wasn't lacking launches this month, with South of Midnight, Blue Prince and this to name a few. Bethesda themselves have Doom releasing in what? 3 weeks? I'd say people buying Oblivion might even be put off buying Doom too, as people have limited time and Oblivion is a big game.

Also, MS and especially Bethesda have limited games for the rest of the year. Besthesda have no more titles and MS have maybe 1 big announced one (Outer Worlds 2, unless I'm missing anything else?).

Unless they plan to do this "stealth" release more often but that will only really work with things like existing titles, remaster or remakes. No one cares about a stealth release for a new franchise title.

Hmm, pie.

Anyone played yet, it's def unlocked now. I'll start it this evening, looking forward to it and it's on my mind a lot.

I'll pick this up at some point. If I buy it now I wouldn't touch it for a while I'm still making my way through Xenoblade Chronicles X. I'm 60 hours in, but because I side quest so much I'm not even half way done yet. So, I'll snag it once I finish XCX.

It seems like there are crashes and some performance issues on PC at least. I'll probably wait for a sale and patches then, since I'm playing Oblivion and Fatal Fury anyway.

It's not that weird. This is a way to make Game Pass look undeniable great and will keep subs for extended amount of time. Netflix and other subs do the same thing with droppings a bunch of content all at once and it works. You can sub to Game Pass or pay X amount for all these games. Then dropping ps5 releases of Indiana Jones and Forza Horizon 5. This is a way to really props up their quarterly earnings for Xbox.  There has been substantial growth of Game Pass since Black Ops 6 with rumors of reaching 50 million subs.

Xbox still has Doom The Dark Ages, Outer Worlds 2, THPS 3+4 remake, Ninja Gaiden 4, CoD 2025, and maybe even something else. Overall, this year is stacked with releases from Xbox and really makes Game Pass enticing.

Maybe that's the issue, and the idea of that doesn't work on me which is why I find it odd. I see it as a hindrance because I would sign up, play all those recent drops (even if for 10 mins to see if I like them) and then unsub, £100 worth or more of gaming for £15-20, but if there was a sustained games over a longer period, I'm more likely to stay subbed. You say Netflix do that? But Disney found the opposite and seem to want retained subs so release their biggest new series weekly, not all at once (although hear that's different with Andor 2) but the don't get all their new series added in just a months or 2 and thenlet it sit for a a few more with nothing coming out? (don't know, don't sub to TV services).

I mentioned Doom already but you are right on the others. Guess I forget the relevance of Activision sometimes, don't really consider them Xbox even if they are MS but they def count for GP.
