A bit overdramatic, are we?

Legit Hyperbole.

It may be hyperbole but it may also be legit.

Can't move onto another game, not for long anyway, this keeps pulling me back.

Well into end game, didn't update the game at first but had to turn off the PS5 so, is now sadly but I never used that cheese build. I had a virtuosos Stendall thing for sure but nothing cheese like people were doing, glad it was only that move that was nerfed, not Maele in general. This said I'm getting all characters to do hundreds of k damage now when Maele hit it a long time ago. My issue now is not knowing parries and dying :P

This said I'm struggling to level and the need to finish the last few things to do, I have one narrative optional boss left I think and got them to phase 2 then just popped, and I'm not wanting to get back to phase 2. 4 or 5 trophies left, I will have to look up and I don't like doing that. Maybe it's time for a break. 50+ hours in, far more enjoyed this than the 47 I played of DAV.... so so sad, poor Dragon Age.

Hmm, pie.

Act 3 needs some tweaks

Most of the content seems to be designed for maybe level 70+, with very little room for character building and side content before the final boss

I'm feeling the Dread of going map to map until I manage to find something supposed to be played on level 50

So far the issues of the game were pretty minor, but this is jarring. Since all side quests and optional content are concentrated in act 3, we are talking about well over 20% of the game with a serious design flaw, you either grind like crazy or forget side content and go straight to final boss

If they could at least put suggested levels on the portals it would help a bit. But the correct way to address it is simply lower a bit the level of optional bosses

Also, weapon upgrade items are way way too rare

I sometimes want to experiment different weapons but it's so hard to maximize them... I just keep one weapon per character forever. I'm curious to see how are people making so many different builds with so few resources available

Painters work shop, the first 5 stages of the Endless Tower, massive EXP from that, loads of overworld bosses with nesscessery pictos, Sprong is a must kill but yes, a lot of heading back and forth to check if you're leveled enough. Don't be put off by a hard boss in the Endless Tower, one or two are extremely difficult but getting past them brings down the difficulty again. Find the Flying Manor, it's not on the map. Level up companions for quests and rewards.

Also, you wanna do the final boss early or you'll be over leveled. You're probably already over leveled and will miss out on a great fight.

I love it when you come up on a strange, optional boss you don't know the level of, nearly get wrecked in the first exchange, think you're cooked but decide to fight on anyway, then slowly start to figure the enemy out as you're juggling downed team members but doing better every time. Finally conquering those bosses through grit and adaptation is so rewarding.

I think I've exhausted my playthrough. I've got like 6 trophies left, 3 hidden, 3 collectathons and don't like those. I'm at the "ultimate" optional boss and have no desire to learn the attack patterns really. Going to give it a break for a bit and come back to it with a new game plus sometime I think.

What a fantastic experience though. It's been a while since I played a game that got me hooked so quickly and was still challenging me by the end, I was even switching up builds as I got new weapons (didn't really upgrade as you'd just find more powerful ones). My only gripe is

Spoiler!
Verso, sorry but I just don't like him, character or combat, wanted Gustave back the entire time, an immortal character makes for a stale stakes. Plus I've haven't worked it out yet but would have hoped you could get Gustave back for end game but wasn't the case in my play through. Maybe next time (avoided looking anything up, no wikia guides for me).

Yeah but Versos motivations wouldn't make any sense if he wasn't immortal, they are treating him like a marionette for their own greif and want to escape reality and he doesn't want it anymore and you wouldn't have that amazing moment at the end on the Maelle ending where Verso is pleading he doesn't want this life but Maelle paints him back anyway, implying she's taken away his will for her own selfish reasons.

Might sound weird, Legit, but I'm not going to click that due to "spoilers" for my second play, whenever I do it. :P

But will save the post for one day in the future. :)
