What a fantastic experience though. It's been a while since I played a game that got me hooked so quickly and was still challenging me by the end, I was even switching up builds as I got new weapons (didn't really upgrade as you'd just find more powerful ones). My only gripe is

Verso, sorry but I just don't like him, character or combat, wanted Gustave back the entire time, an immortal character makes for a stale stakes. Plus I've haven't worked it out yet but would have hoped you could get Gustave back for end game but wasn't the case in my play through. Maybe next time (avoided looking anything up, no wikia guides for me).

Yeah but Versos motivations wouldn't make any sense if he wasn't immortal, they are treating him like a marionette for their own greif and want to escape reality and he doesn't want it anymore and you wouldn't have that amazing moment at the end on the Maelle ending where Verso is pleading he doesn't want this life but Maelle paints him back anyway, implying she's taken away his will for her own selfish reasons.
