Not bad, but personally I would have referred to him as a fat piece of shit. Blithering moron's pretty good too.

Value I see around me.
Families have subs to Netflix that games, have a mobile with a ton of free games then we also have big ones like Fortnite/Roblox etc...
Meanwhile a lot of familes have also subs like Prime that has 25ish 'free' games a month + Epic store that has 'Free' games...
The typical 'why spend +50 whatever bucks when you already have so many games' will be heard everywhere...
I also want to add me and my brother had like 25 ish games for a platform after 3-4 years together meanwhile that is the amount kids get for EACH MONTH with just a monthly subscription that mom and dad have..

One thing I rarely see discussed anywhere, is what's more important, industry growth in terms of larger profits, or industry growth in terms of larger amounts of gamers?
Consoles may seem stagnant in terms of unit growth, but prices keep going up and up along with company profits. Look at Switch's incredible sales, and look at what people are predicting for SW2 sales in comparison. What would you rather have, because it doesn't seem like the industry can have both types of growth.
PS1 - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.
PS2 - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.
PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
Missed this video when I made the OP, and after watching the MKW Direct Dunkey might be unto something here.

Seriously though, Nintendo's price hikes seem like a deliberate red ocean strategy. They are effectively squeezing out the competition's next-gen consoles by pushing them into a premium corner burdened by high AAA development costs and a potentially smaller audience. This strategic move leaves their rivals with limited choices: either increase their own prices or attempt a market disruption with a cheaper alternative, a base already secured by the Switch Lite.
To be completely honest, I am not happy with these new video game prices. I have never really bought games at full price at launch over here in Europe; but with this new baseline it will push my usual 45eur threshold to last gen's 60eur launch price, and that's something which I will need to consider in future purchases. Another thing to note is that we are at the launch window of a new generation, and with that comes premium prices.

Thanks Rol! That was easy to pick up as it is common practice in today's market.

Surprised even Donkey is going after Nintendo, for the price stuff. He's typically very pro-Nintendo.
I watched RGT85's video on it (after watching the direct):
And find myself agreeing with him.
Nintendo did not justify its price with this direct.
If you look at the comment's on youtube they are like this:
"This game absolutely does not look worth $80"
"I can't think of any game worth $80 and this Mario Kart World Direct did absolutely nothing to change my mind."
"It’s worth $60 max. $70 is pushing it. $80 is nuts. Bundle is limited time only. Scalpers are gonna grab all those up first. Good luck getting one."
"Short answer is no. Long answer is nooooooooooooooooo"
"I am suprised they did not charge us $10 to watch the presentation."
"It sooo underwhelming my hype died down a few notches"
"Having the open world without a story mode sounds like a mistake."
"Nothing they showed justifies $80"
"I am less excited now than i was yesterday unfortunately"
"I don’t see an $80 game (Here)."
"It's Mario Kart. But $80."
"Short answer: No"
"If youre going to make your game the most expensive standard edition game to EVER hit the market, youre gonna have to do a lot better than that"
"Don’t forget that Nintendo told us that this direct would show us why it’s at 80 dollars."
It just keeps going and going like that.
I think, alot of people that might have been buying in the past, will skip this.

I will unless they double the tracks and have more Battle Mode options.

There's this weird 2 way mindset with gamers where you have one side, those arguing about whether a game costs too much.
Then on the other side, there are gamers who mindlessly spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on a single game.
I was talking to a group of friends after the Direct and they were saying how Nintendo has lost their minds charging $80 for MK World, and then I reminded each of them that they all spent $300 each on heirlooms in Apex Legends. FOR ONE FUCKING CHARACTER!! And they had a model to where that was all they spent instead of $400
I got on to them asking how Apex Legends is worth $300 (in reality they've actually spent a lot more) yet Mario Kart World isn't worth $80?

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Whoever spent that much on Apex Legends is guilible, and Mario Kart World is still too expensive for what it offers. That's why I said they need twice the courses they said were included so far, same with Battle Mode options.

I've probably spent around that amount on Path of exile as well (a free to play game)... for stash tabs, cosmetics ect.
I guess it depends on if you can see your self putting like 2000+ hours into it (or many more).
Like if you believe Mario Kart world, will consume you, and your gaming habits for years to come.... yes obviously 80$ is okay.
I think most people just don't see Mario Kart that way.
