One thing I rarely see discussed anywhere, is what's more important, industry growth in terms of larger profits, or industry growth in terms of larger amounts of gamers?
Consoles may seem stagnant in terms of unit growth, but prices keep going up and up along with company profits. Look at Switch's incredible sales, and look at what people are predicting for SW2 sales in comparison. What would you rather have, because it doesn't seem like the industry can have both types of growth.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
