Missed this video when I made the OP, and after watching the MKW Direct Dunkey might be unto something here.

Surprised even Donkey is going after Nintendo, for the price stuff.  He's typically very pro-Nintendo.

I watched RGT85's video on it (after watching the direct):

And find myself agreeing with him.
Nintendo did not justify its price with this direct.

If you look at the comment's on youtube they are like this:

"This game absolutely does not look worth $80"
"I can't think of any game worth $80 and this Mario Kart World Direct did absolutely nothing to change my mind."
"It’s worth $60 max. $70 is pushing it. $80 is nuts. Bundle is limited time only. Scalpers are gonna grab all those up first. Good luck getting one."
"Short answer is no. Long answer is nooooooooooooooooo"
"I am suprised they did not charge us $10 to watch the presentation."
"It sooo underwhelming my hype died down a few notches"
"Having the open world without a story mode sounds like a mistake."
"Nothing they showed justifies $80"
"I am less excited now than i was yesterday unfortunately"
"I don’t see an $80 game (Here)."
"It's Mario Kart. But $80."
"Short answer: No"
"If youre going to make your game the most expensive standard edition game to EVER hit the market, youre gonna have to do a lot better than that"
"Don’t forget that Nintendo told us that this direct would show us why it’s at 80 dollars."

It just keeps going and going like that.
I think, alot of people that might have been buying in the past, will skip this.
