Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Donkey Kong Bananza, a new 3D DK game, releases on Switch 2 July 17th

Hmm, looks like a blend of DK64, Wario World, and a touch of DK Country. Could be sweet, but I'd rather they emphasize 2D platforming portions rather than 3D.

My only big problem is the lack of Kremlings and King K. Rool.

Yeah, I also got Wario World vibes from it.

I like that they're really leaning in to the destructibility and interactivity of the world to set it apart, rather than just being 3D Mario with a Kong skin.
Similar to TOTK with its elaborate physics, it can't have been easy to make a game where almost the whole world can be deformed and destroyed without breaking the game or being buggy as hell.

Didn't The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction come close to that?

Similar concept, but less complex due to being on older hardware. Still impressive stuff for its time though.

Helps that DK is kinda built like the Hulk.
