With rumors of a portable Xbox swirling online, would you personally buy such a device, and why/why not?
If it had physical games and actual exclusives yes but given it will be just another PC handheld with an Xbox logo. What's the point? What makes it so special over a Deck or Ally?
I'm not an Xbox gamer but I'd buy an Xbox handheld. Even with the games coming to PS5. I have spent a lot of time talking myself out of a Series S purchase for game pass with the biggest thing that prevents me being the ecosystem change. I'd love to see Xbox first party Vita like games though.
If it's more powerful than Switch 2 and gets majority of AAA third party games then I will buy it. But if Sony also decides to release a native Playstation handheld as well then I'll buy that instead
I would buy it if:
1) It is not a PC with an Xbox Logo. Would rather just get a ROG Ally.
2) Lets me play Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series Games that I have accrued over the years on Xbox, even if it's digital only.
3) Decent hardware. If it just another bog standard Strix Point or Z1 Extreme device, what's the point?
4) Right Price.

Same reason as I wont buy a Steam Deck.
I got my Switch and iPhone for gaming.
For Xbox games I want to play it on my 85'' TV.
No, I think I’m done with the Xbox ecosystem. I have an Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series, but I don’t see myself investing in future Microsoft hardware.
1) it appears that all must-have Xbox first-party games will appear on other consoles I own
2) there aren’t a lot of must-have games to begin with
3) the marquee games from Xbox studios are mostly big-budget, glossy titles that benefit from a large screen (this goes double for PlayStation, which is why that company’s rumored handheld seems strange as well)
I haven't gamed Xbox since 360 days but I would be interested in an Xbox Handheld over a steamdeck... It needs to hit Series S level performance and software support, be sleek and an relatively open/flexible platform.
Can this be done in 2025 at reasonable
I would buy one under one circumstance, that's never going to happen: full physical support aka games on cartridge.
