Shout out to @curl-6 making this thread in the recent days with N64 and Wii. I figured the first home console I played in my life deserves some love.

What is the best GameCube game besides SSB Melee, Zelda, or Metroid Prime?

Eternal Darkness: Sanitys Requiem

F-Zero: GX for me!

EDIT: I should give some more explanation lol. I just always felt so cool playing that game! Arguably one of, if not the most graphically impressive games on the GameCube while still running at 60fps (still looks great today), a kickin electronic techno soundtrack, a surprisingly fleshed out single-player mode, and the satisfaction you feel when overcoming the challenging gameplay. The game does a fantastic job at giving you the sense of speed. You truly feel like you're going that fast!

I can see why Nintendo feels like the franchise peaked with GX and felt like they couldn't evolve the series anymore after that lol.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Tales of Symphonia is best with or without exclusions.

Try out my free game on Steam

2025 OpenCritic Prediction Leagues

Not just the best game on Gamecube bar none, but in my opinion the greatest video game ever made.

Everything about it is just solid gold, from the presentation to the mechanics to the pacing to the atmosphere, just a a masterclass in interactive entertainment.

F-Zero 99 shows that even if barely they have a few small ideas for the franchise.

Others and I have been saying for years that F-Zero GX HD is a no-brainer. How much could that cost? Up the resolution, add online multiplayer, and we're good. I'm sure its sales would be more than enough to finance a new F-Zero game.

Paper Mario TTYD and Super Mario Sunshine for sure

Soulcalibur II as well.

Tales of Symphonia was my favorite game of that generation Gamecube/PS2/Xbox. Resident Evil 2 and Eternal Darkness were very high up as were most games made by Nintendo.
