Easy 10. I have it up there with god of war ragnarok. Those who say it's average haven't put nearly enough time into the game,

You think Ragnorok is a 10 aswell... man, I don't understand you. That game is paint by numbers and has nothing on GoW '18. It's so bland. Got through the quest with Freya after the long atreus section and parked that up for a rainy day when no games vibe. I think it has potential to be an 8/10 but my God is it like it was made on a factory line with no creative input. Disney of GoWs, good junk food but it's not really food. GoW '18 was excellent cause it had all that nonsense stripped back and felt wide and open, Ragnorok feels like a roller coaster ride.

You sir, are very difficult to understand.

Yes its a dam 10, or 9,   once you're done with all the side quests and unlockables, and upgrades. far from a roller coaster ride, there is good pacing in the game.  Did you even play it properly or rushed though it?

you're the guy that loved stellar blade. but if you thought ragnarok is an 8, then stellar blade is a 2.

Yeah, I played Ragnorok twice up until shortly after the Atreus section, tried picking up the save a few times, I'm with Frey as Kratos traversing a jungle setting but I just can't get into it for some reason. I liked bits of it, the side quest to free the big whale creature was the best bit, that felt like GoW '18 but the main story path is less than stellar.

Stellar Blade counted as anything less than an 8 is an affront to all of existence. I'm kinda feeling Wu Kong btw, well, I've softened to it anyway. The Snake boss was quite a fun challenge but I still can't get over the unresponsive of the doge, it's such a simple thing but it's really bad. I see skills in the panel which effect doge but can't be unlocked yet, I hope that fixes it cause ad your only means of escape and defence it should be instant, hell, it shouldn't even be tied to stanima since there is no block or parry. I feel the game lacks rhythm in the way most games have these days but I also feel that that's kinda nice, it feels more zen. That said, combat is exactly the same as TW3 on Death Marach difficult when you strip it all the flashiness back.

Based in the scores I think the game is underrated, because for me the game is at least a 85.

My real Goty is Metaphor, but just to throw a bit of salt, I think Wukong is a way BETTER game than Stellar Blade (I like Stellar Blade, but I prefer Wukong).

Now that I said it, its time to run.

A dumb monkey game funded by the CCP got all this attention just for being caught in the middle of the divided western political debate, when a lot of it's controversy was likely astroturfed just to get that attention.

Meanwhile a new big JRPG by Atlus which was GOTY for pretty much everyone who played it, got overlooked because it had a confusing name.

You get the industry you deserve.

I personally wont purchase an Atlus jrpg games anymore near launch, after Persona 5 Royal came out and wasn't dlc I could purchase to my vanilla Persona 5. I do have interest in Metaphor, but I'll wait at least a year to make sure they don't pull the same shenanigans.

It's average score is 81 on meta which is likely a fair score so I wouldn't label it overrated. I do think there is a loud minority that act like this is the best game of 2024. Stellar blade falls into this same territory. Both really good games but not GOTY material like the fanbases believe.

Alan Wake 2 is an 8/10.

Actually closer to 9/10 with 89 average. Anyways, irrelevant to the topic. I had a feeling you would say something dumb like this lol.

Aggregate scores really are the end all of truth on how good a game is. The critics are always right especially when you combine their scores into one nonsense figure that ranges from 70-100.

The graphical downgrade from chapter 1 to 2 is atrocious, I feel cheated. It's such an ugly landscape.

I progressed to the wind sage. Was pretty easy up until that, the Tiger Vangaurd is the only thing that gave me trouble and this Yellow Wind Sage is the first real boss that is a significant challenge that I'm finding difficulty overcoming and had to farm some sparks and try different builds as well as explore gor items and equipment, just a pity he's not much fun and difficulty in a poor sort of way. The Tiger Vangaird is where the game became fun but it's still not great, this game is a slightly more punchy adn more fluid feeling version of The Witcher 3s combat on Death March difficulty when you get into late game and have a build.

I do like TW3s combat but it very basic. I see the transformations as sign and it's just doge and hit, no combos cause it's all done for you so Square, square, square and square with the odd heavy attack that has no relationship to the light attacks. Builds aren't at all useful, just choosing what spells you have attached is all there is. It is so very basic but I have to say it is pulling me back in for more and that's a feat cause I'm very much clinically depressed at the moment.

If they had added a parry to this game (I know it has a parry CD but that's useless) and focused on that, went Sekiro style this would be a great game but they'd also have to fix the visuals cause this is completely unoptimised nonsense, there is no excuse for it to be this graphically janky and ugly image quality just to get 60fps on PS5. Some parts look like a ps2 game, lots of clipping, artifacting, texture pop in and so on. Stellar Blade was made with UE4 and that's so much better and more stable than this. There is no excuse when KCD2 looks so great at 60fps with a lot more going on under the hood. It's even worse than a Team Ninja game cause they at least no where to cut back on graphics and maybe get jaggies for it but their games don't make you feel sick. On top, invisible walls and such poor exploration, it's very linear and not in a good souls like way. Everything is just kind of placed willy nilly.

Can't tell how many hours I'm in cause I was not taking my own account and I left the game running so the PS timer is off but it had to be way more than the length it took Stellar Blafe to get good. The story is also complete nonsense and I mean that quite literally cause they don't know how to tell a story whatsoever. Great VA and localisation but nonsense all the same.

If only it had a parry system gor people who want to play that way it'd be great even if you could only parry very basic attacks and pushed to doge half the time or more. People could still enjoy the dodge combat while us Sekiro fanatics could get our dopamine fix.

So far it could not exceed a 7/10 for me but there is a lit of game left.

I defeated The Wind Sage pretty easily, just needed the right build and pellets.

...but I'm left wondering, did I just out build him or win as I learned the fight. That's a big problem with this game, The Tiger Vangauard is the only fight I felt like I actually improved by attempting to beat him.

Tiger Vangaurd is the superior fight and actually a pretty great boss, if the game has more of these ahead I'll stick around.
