Probably in Brazil. They have stupidly high tariffs on electronics.

Eh, the og and maybe the oled. I think it still worth it to buy a lite, provided that it costs 200-250 €less than Nintendo switch 2. |
I will note that currently, a used Switch Lite is cheaper than a used 3DS in the UK (mainly going by CEX prices).
Hmm, pie.

Not worth it compared to getting pre-owned I mean, not talking about Switch 2. Pre-owned switch prices have dropped like a rock while new has stayed the same.
Like I said you can get a used OLED for less than a new lite, or a used lite for less than half the price of a new one.
Unless for some reason you have to have new, at the cost of paying double, buying a brand new switch 1 isn't worth it. Used market is massively cheaper in 2026.

We concur. 519€ here in Greece, which is 603$. Pretty close, eh? Blame it on the distributor? Smaller entrepreneurs are exempted of vat for electronics, so 418€. Tolerable level. However, wherelse could it be pricier? Somewhere in Latin America? |
Yeah, there's been talk about the distributor for the Scandinavian region when it comes to Nintendo specifically, there have always been insane price discrepancies compared to the rest of the continent. Most Swedes import from Germany now (there are examples in this very thread of the immense price difference) since they're both in the EU and no added tolls or taxes apply in most cases.
The company Bergsala has a monopoly on all Nintendo products to Scandinavia, are believed to be behind the majority of the insane pricing. They deny this, of course, but even government-level flashlights have been shining at them since last year (and the unveiling of the ludicrous pricing of the Switch 2).

I can definitely confirm this. I paid £62 for a perfect as new boxed yellow Japanese Switch Lite with PSU and about £100 for a tatty OLED Switch but perfect working order and clean screen. A previous Switch I paid £130 for and was bundled with 2 games, spare set of joycons and other accessory bits and pieces. I sold on the games and spare joycons and it worked out about £70-80. All of these were from ebay at different times and all auctions. I did buy a Switch Lite before from ebay that worked out at £59 but it had to go back as wasn't reading cartridges. I often think the cheapest way to buy many things including Switch is buy a bundle and then sell on the bits you don't want.
I often go into CEX and at the time I bought my Switch Lite I noticed they were selling them for £99.99 at the time which I think was the cheapest in the cabinet. However I should add CEX offer a 5 year warranty on their products, far longer than a new product, basically they put a margin on the product that allows them to offer such a warranty which gives real piece of mind. So £99 is actually a very decent price with that in mind. I don't get much of a warranty with my ebay purchases to say the least. Maybe 3 months if I'm lucky.
I don't see the value of new to be honest, as soon as you take it out the box its second-hand. I would never buy anything for myself that was new if I could save a lot of money buying second-hand. I also try to get the best price so if I later sell that item I might make a small profit on occasion or make no loss at all.

199 euros in France. Sometimes 196€ which is 230 US $.
We have it good in France, we have the cheapest consoles (Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox).
In NL you can check with the Tweakers site, they have a price history too.

In Switzerland it's 179.90 CHF for the NS Lite.
That would be approx. 194 Eur or 228$.

Hence, probably an extra reason Nintendo consoles sell so much in a European market.

Wow, outstanding.
Affordable! No vat?
So, lite is still enticing in many European markets.
Will keep NS afloat a bit more.
Europe is the only territory where NS is lagging significantly behind NDS/PS2 and even PS4,despite having outsold them in other places way before.

Fair deal.
