Great to see you both continuing your charts for another year - they're such a handy resource - thanks guys!
Switch being up YOY is cool to see.
At this point it's already the GOAT in Japan, so even if it falls off now as Switch 2 approaches, it's legacy is secure.
Last year I predicted Switch and PS5 for Famitsu 2024. But the Switch blew my prediction out of the water and Sony increased the price of the PS5
Switch - 2.2m (Real 3.11m)
PS5 - 1.7m (Real 1.45m)
This year I will try again for famitsu 2025.
Switch - 2.1m
PS5- 1.1m
Going optimistic on Switch despite Switch 2 announcement and launch.
Pessimistic on PS5 due to price increase but still decent sales due to MH and GTA.

Doing basic math based on your past prediction its going to be
Switch-2.96m
PS5-0.935m
Lets see how close you are at the end of the year.
Oof I forgot about the post holiday software chart 😅
Nonetheless, this is a good early performance for the Switch since it surpasses last year results so far(how ?!)
However the PS5 .... Not so much ...

Considering it has/will trounce the DS record by several million, it's hard to imagine any system ever beating the Switch.
Oofff, PS5 back to its baseline ~10k weekly sales. Things are gonna be ugly for Sony in Japan from here on out, especially with Switch 2 just months away.
We're about to find out very soon how much Switch 2's announcement will affect Switch 1's baseline.
I don't foresee it impacting it TOO much, since we don't have a release date or price yet. I'd expect Switch 1's baseline to drop around the 20-30k range. Noticeably lower than last year, but still respectable, especially for a system about to enter Year 9(!!!)
Once that April Direct comes and goes and we formally know the price, launch date, and launch lineup, and they're all good or even great, THAT'S when the bottom is gonna fall out.
