Something has really been bothering me regarding all the speculation over Switch 2's specs. Not because I don't want it to be true, or because I don't believe the analysts know what they're talking about, but because I can't wrap my head around the argument's logic.
The original Switch was released in 2017, 4 years after the PS4 and the Xbox One, for €300. At the time, it was discussed as slightly less powerful than the Xbox One, which was slightly less powerful than the PS4.
Now, in 2025, 12 years after the PS4 and the Xbox One and 5 years after the PS5 and Xbox Series, with a larger unit, and allegedly for €400, it is supposed to be on par with the PS4 and XOne? You're telling me that the Switch is going to take 8 years to go from slightly less powerful than to on par with a 2013 console?
Wouldn't it make a lot more sense for it to be slightly less powerful than either the PS5 or XSX, at least on par with the XSS? Especially with the gap between the power of home and portable consoles slowly but surely narrowing over time, I can't make sense of a future where a PS6 and a PS4-level console coexist in the market.
