Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Best Video Game Music of 2025

Just like last year and the year before that, I am once again going to start keeping track of this year's best video game soundtracks in this thread. It's often very easy to forget or simply overlook some of the year's best video game scores when the award season comes along at the end of the year, especially if the game in question was released very early in the year. As such, in order for that not to happen at least as much, I will put together a single, hopefully handy chart that lists as many of the best soundtracks of 2025 as possible in an easily readable form.

I will naturally add to the list on my own whenever I come across video game soundtracks that  I think deserve to be heard, but I would also like for everyone else to leave their suggestions in this thread as well, with links to some music tracks from the game if possible. I will collect them into the list as well throughout the year. The only limitation is that the game has to be released in 2025.

First entry to this year's list is Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist. The first game already have a very good soundtrack, though it felt a bit one-note. The sequel has added a lot more variety to its music, which is a very welcome change.

Easily Death Stranding 2, I haven't hear dit yet but I just know what ever is in store will be supremely worth the wait and since I have no expectations, just knowing Kojima will provide, I know I'm in store for something great, even if the game misses the OST will hit.

Got another game to add to the list as Rift of the Necrodancer just released a couple of days ago, and it's score is quite excellent, as it should be considering it's a rhythm action game revolving around music.

Already and very easily Kingdom Come Deliverence 2. Like.... WOW. Even the ps5 home screen music is amazing but the OST in the first three hours is so masterfully worked in to the gameplay and story beats. Just that alone beats perhaps even anything in 2024 too.

I'll add it to the list.

Can you add this to the KCD2 column, it's soooo good.. mild Spoilers for the intro of the game...

I can't wait until DS2 releases for the music alone, sadly the Low Roar singer died but Kojima has managed to find artists with the same vibe. I can't wait to see the actually core OST stuff but it will have a hard time exceeding KCD2, infact any game is going to have trouble topping it.

Monster Hunter Wilds has some nice tracks:

^ Very cool but very safe. Feels like I've heard it a million times before.
