Forums - Gaming - List of Games You've Beaten 2025

Since my last post I have managed to finish two games.

Silent Hill 2 remake - Exceptional, I think it lives up to the hype. Super scary atmosphere, excellent enemy design, good puzzles, great level design, outstanding storytelling, solid combat. It might be a little too long, some of the areas were a little drawn out, and maybe there were a few too many encounters. But these were minor problems. I have unfortunately never played the original, so cannot say how much of what the remake does well is because the foundation was good and how much it does well because it is a bloody good remake. Expecially the storytelling is levels over most video games I have played, I can count on one hand how many games handle this aspect as well, but for sure it must be because the original did it well, don't know how much changed. In any case, I give the remake a 9/10 for now.

Dead Space remake (2023) - Continuing on my survival horror marathon, I played this acclaimed remake from 2023. I have played some of the original, but never completed it. I think overall it's a pretty cool game with an awesome setting, great weapons, fun combat. The remake definitely improves on some aspects, such as visuals and gore. It is hard to put a finger on anything, however I think it is a bit too action heavy for my taste, it is certainly more action-horror than survival horror, and while the combat is great, it does become a little repetetive eventually. I also wasn't so invested in the story. I give it a small 8/10.

What were you doing in DMC5 for 45 hours? I remember I done everything three times on higher difficulties after finishing the game as I was disappointed the game was so short at like a few hours short of an even dozen. Can't have spent more than 25 hours getting three difficulties up.

I did Human, Devil Hunter and Legendary Dark Knight mode across Nero, V and Dante's story mode (even played as the different characters for the same stages where they had 2-3 characters at the select screen) and also did Human, Devil Hunter and Legendary Dark Knight mode for Vergil as well.

I also did Bloody Palace for a bit.

Been a bit since last post. Lets see, so after MK1, finishing the story and doing some trophies I first went on to Final Fantasy 9. Mainly as got an itch. Rumours of course of FF9 remake makes me worried though, can't fathom how SquEnix will do a remake of a masterpiece and turn it into drivel somehow. Anyway, played the story, got to disc 4, wanted to do trophies, realised loads of them are missable, did some but enjoyed my time with it.

Honestly, it made me realise something very important. I miss Final Fantasy. Man they were so good.

Right then, in conversations with KratosLive, I gave Returnal another shot. I got stuck, a "crux" so to speak. I pushed through and realised I was barely even like a 3rd of the way through it. I played it for like 20 hours before, now on 55 and done everything but the last collecting trophies. I'm still not sure I got the story but getting to true grips with the progress, especially in areas 4-6 made it far more enjoyable. I did say it was excellent and I still think they need a little more accessibility but that looks like it was going to come in the form of the "shield" in Saros.

After Returnal, thought I'd have something a bit more relaxing, so played original God Of War on my PS2, on easy.

Hmm, pie.

That’s a great list of games you’ve beaten in 2025! You’ve clearly put in a lot of hours and dedication. Every one of those wins feels awesome finishing a game is always satisfying. Can’t wait to see what you beat next!
