It would be a lie and Sony knows that. Even their invetors would question their seriosity! Sometime it's getting redicolous. Its like a dying Ferrari still trying to accelerate to the max when they know their engine is rusty and everyone knows it. And this Ferrari is trying to tell fantasy stories how its still the fastest car when Koenigsegg Jesko is already out, outrunning every number this dying Ferrari is trying to coug out of their already dead engine...

These figures are from Circana not Sony, so they can't just tell Circana to "lie".

If Sony came out and "reported" 60 million PS2's sold in the US... then YES it would be a lie! But we already know "in loving Memory" fairy tales.😉

We'll enjoy the 50M milestone when it happens in a year or two, but I just simply can't fantasm how it'll reach the DS LT sales at this point even with possible cuts in price or a new smaller or TV-only SKU.

Honestly it's just moreso telling of how important the US market was so important for Nintendo during the Wii/DS era because it litteraly forms a quarter of their total sales.

There's a hardware-by-date tool? Since when did this exist?? Lol. Where do I find this?

I am not sure if you are sarcastic here or not, but my observations when it comes to sales data are that many people have trouble with that and go through some articles and stuff that if not official are not up to date and adjusted. The tool is on the upside drop down menu, under tools - hardware by Date. There you can set monthly/weekly or yearly, and you can choose period as well as a region. Works best on PC though.

I see. Yeah, I’m on mobile typically so I’ve never seen this before. I’ll look into this… (p.s. I saw your PM. I’ll respond soon!)

No. The deficit is simply too big. It could hit 50M, but matching the DS is probably impossible at this point, esp. with the Switch 2 coming out possibly before the halfway point of next year.

PS2 is done and dusted in the US, DS will not happen.

Yes they are calendar years, which is why Switch has high year 1 sales (March release) and most other console's like Wii (late November release) have low year 1 sales.

So to clarify, GBA launched June 2001, this Year 1 is for 2001 right ?

Yes, GBA was super cheap at launch so got off to a great start.
