I never felt preached to while playing Mass Effect.

How can you feel preach to when you have not played the game?

I have played through Mass Effect 1-3 twice...

Bioware is probably going to go under, because they choose to go full on woke representation.
The thing is, trans people probably make up like 0.1% of the population (even less than parts of the LGBTA+)
If something is offputting to like 90% of the population that arn't LGTBA, and you make it a focus of your game..... its gonna sell poorly.
Which is fine... as a developer or programmer, as long as your okay with your game doing poorly.

Incorrect. If Bioware is going under, it's because their previous 3 projects have been disasters. Dragon Age Veilguard is better received than the last several Bioware games.

Dragon Age Inquisition had gay and trans characters.

Yeah, a lot of these people forget that Mass Effect also had gay and trans characters but oh well, back then we didn't care but now that some groups have a new label to throw around well, everything is getting called woke.

Which game do you think I am saying you have not played when you have already stated you have not played the game we are talking about.

We were talking about Mass Effect as well, so I assumed you meant that. My bad.

I have seen several cutscenes and gameplay, heard from people who have played it and read about it. Im not gonna spend my money on something I dont want to play. I gather information from various sources and then I decide if I want to play a game or not. Its like that for most games/franchises Im not already familiar with.

Nowadays “woke” is anything with a female or non-white character in it.

Unless the female character looks like a sex doll.

Just wondering by have you played the game.  What exactly within the game make it woke.  The reason I ask is because it seems like a lot of people bandwagon on a term when they haven't even played a game.

I havent played it or any of the Dragon Age games for that matter, but with cutscenes like this:

Its just so blatant and forced. It feels preachy.

This is bullshit fake rage.

You do *not* need to partake in that scene/conversation, you control the flow of the conversation and can thus avoid it.
It's building backstory for those characters.

Again if you google like "woke games 2024", you ll get stuff like:

Forspoken, xdefiant , Concord, Unknown 9 - awakening, Dragon Age - veilguard, Dustborn, Suicide Squad, ....

Maybe they had other issues, but these were all "branded" as really woke games, that then went on to do poorly.

Yes I legit think, all this stuff inserted into games, are hurting them.

By that same argument... DEI/Woke must have helped Baldurs Gate 3.
You can't have it one way and not the other.

Baldur's Gate 3's Nocturne is a transgender character.
Barcus Wroot, Lakrissa, Alfira, etc are queer, with each having comprehensive backstories that even explore those LGBTQI aspects.

The character creator was also very LGBTQI friendly.

Dragon Age Inquisition had gay and trans characters.

Most of Bioware games have LGBTQI representation... Even Mass Effect 1,2 and 3 which were highly praised.

Even Knights of the Old Republic which released in 2003 has a Lesbian romance in it with Johani.
Jade Empire had same-sex romance in 2005.

I think people are genuinely stupid if they get upset when a Bioware game release in 2024 has LGBTQI representation... When for almost 20 years Bioware has been featuring it in their games, with the majority being critical success despite that.

It would be like going to Mc Donalds and buying a big mac and getting upset that it tastes like Cardboard. It's Mc Donalds... You know what you are buying for decades.

Could I have some examples of games that have included LGBT+ stuff or other minorities in both good and very poor ways?

Can't say I have really experience it in a bad way.
I tend to give less of a rats ass than most people, LGBTQI representation is a "small world issue" in the grand scheme of things.

But:
* Jade Empire.
* Knights of the old Republic.
* Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3.
* Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age: inquisition.
* The Last of Us.
* Fable 1, 2, 3.
* Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.
* Chrono Trigger.
* Assassins Creed.
* Borderlands.
* Fallout 2, New Vegas and Fallout 4.
* Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, Ballard of Gay Tony and GTA5.
* Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3.
* Watch Dogs.

And probably a bunch more I have missed where I have seen Pronouns, Romance options, same-sex backstory and characters... Some of these games are the best games of all time even with that inclusion.

Wait, what progressive or queer themes are there in Chrono Trigger? (not a bait question, I genuinely don't know and want to know)

I have a challenge for the anti-woke crowd. Can anyone name any decently well known game(s) that's only issue people could possible contribute to its failure is being "woke?" If its problems can be contributed to bad or unispiring gameplaying, terrible writing, level design, buggy, lacking content, etc., then it clearly doesn't qualify. Btw, Concord failures can easily be contributed to other aspects outside of "wokeness" so don't try to be sly. Also, naming some unknown indie game on steam or whatever doesn't qualify.

I have a challenge for you. Name ONE woke game. It can have bad writing, gameplay, level design, buggy etc.

A lot of games would qualify as woke, Baldurs Gate 3 for instance. Unfortunately for the anti woke side, this one example destroys their logic of, "go woke, go broke." Can you answer my question?
