This was a really good Game Awards.
Congrats to Astro Bot for all of its wins and for winning Game of the Year.
I was also happy to see Balatro win so much.

Well that was interesting.. . . . . . . .

Yes!!! Astro Bot actually won!! I knew it! Well deserved.
Also I was not expecting a new Okami game of all things announced tonight that was certainly a surprise.
Great show all around, so many announcements.
Finally a Naughty Dog new IP since 2013!

That was a very entertaining Game Awards. Especially relative to how it usually is.
Quite a few interesting announcements.
The most interesting/confusing one to me, at least in the sense of being a topic for speculation, is the Elden Ring game.
I'm not sure if it's DLC or a standalone entry.
But people who have played other Souls games noticed that it seems to converge characters from all kinds of Fromsoft games like Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne.
Stated to be a "a co-op action survival game coming in 2025".

Onimusha, Okami sequel, Virtua Fighter, and Turok all announced?
What year is this lol.
Honestly, I didn't see Astro Bot winning it at all considering it was probably the least selling game of the bunch with Metaphor, which in part has always been a factor into which game gets the award. My guess are the vote were actually pretty split like in 2021 for example, and Astro likely edged the other not by much.
Nonetheless, thank freaking goodness it took a while, but a platformer has finally won the TGA !
As usual, show seems to have run for too long, even if I was just looking at the announcements ... They were honestly maybe too many of them in a sense. So much promise of new games in returning franchises, teaser cinematic trailers for upcoming projects that aren't being released likely before 2026-2027.
Good stuff all around, I fear most of them will be lost in the sounds of the few more outstanding ones.

Okami definitely counts as a "holy shit" announcement.
Also surprised Astro Bot won. I figured Black Myth Wukong would carry it off.
It's a standalone game set in an alternate version of the elden ring world, from what i've gathered from previews, the start feels like a battle royale because you even drop on like a spectral bird but it's not a battle royale, you can't do pvp, can't damage other players, you're in a shrinking world trying to get loot to kill bosses either solo or doing co-op and it kinda changes on every replay but to what extent we don't know yet

That was definitely a good show and significantly better than the last one! The announcements were quite strong with Split Fiction being one hightlight, Astro Bot winning GOTY is great to see and while it's still not perfect by any means if it can keep to this sort of level going forward then the Game Awards will be in a good place. Playstation definitely won the GA this time though PC wasn't that far behind. Also Nintendo winning zero awards and having zero announcements only makes me even hungrier for the Switch 2 since they're for sure gonna have a huge 2025 and a big presence at the GA that year as a result.

Doesn't It takes Two count as the first?
