Honestly, I didn't see Astro Bot winning it at all considering it was probably the least selling game of the bunch with Metaphor, which in part has always been a factor into which game gets the award. My guess are the vote were actually pretty split like in 2021 for example, and Astro likely edged the other not by much.
Nonetheless, thank freaking goodness it took a while, but a platformer has finally won the TGA !
As usual, show seems to have run for too long, even if I was just looking at the announcements ... They were honestly maybe too many of them in a sense. So much promise of new games in returning franchises, teaser cinematic trailers for upcoming projects that aren't being released likely before 2026-2027.
Good stuff all around, I fear most of them will be lost in the sounds of the few more outstanding ones.
