Played AI limit for two to three hours or so. I have no luck. It suffers from many of the same issues as Wuchang and some worsened issues like constant screen tearing, the world and character feel even more generic and VA is bad so playing with a Chinese dub and it sounds soft and unenthusiastic.

But with that said it offers many ways around these flaws showcasing just how important control responsiveness is to these games when bosses have fast movesets and thank the lord it has a parry system which works flawlessly and there is no stanima so dodging isn't vomit inducing like Wuchang. Enemy trick placement and snipers and stuff like that don't feel so sickening and haphazard like Wuchang, it feels like you hit them once and you've then learned but most of all, even despite generic environments you can map long distances even when it's doing all the looping around bavk to the start, it is designed well as to make traversal easy in that way and never is it confusing,  everything is distinct and obvious unlike Wuchang where you have forking paths and loops and tiny chokes points that can go missed making a horribly frustrating experience.

I'm still kind of in awe of how bad Wuchang is and I'm still playing it, trying to figure out what people are seeing in this game. I've noticed many now are at the first boss wall and starting to complain but they can't quite articulate why it's a disaster and if taken as feesback for the devs it would look like they just made it too hard when the problems are very nuanced and specific in the design. Hopefully they can come to understand what needs fixing without just reducing boss aggressiveness or difficulty cause that fine but adding defences against it, a parry, clash or block across all weapons that works against most attacks and mark the attacks it does not work against for a start as well as remapping those abilities from the trigger.

I have never seen such a dumpster fire of a game that could easily be fixed in a few months if they just knew where the problems ly.

Only played Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for a couple of hours and I already understand the love of this game. The battle system is just incredibly fun.

It just gets better and better too. One of those games that increases in quality and fun the more you invest into it. Wonderful game and a rare case where almost everything is mostly phenomenal or better and a masterpiece all around when taking it all in generally. I will play this game once a year, already done four playthroughs and I didn't get burned out. It never looses its fun even after over 100 hours and 100%ing it of what's a 25-30 hour game, 60 hours tops for wandering around doing sides and post game stuff. I'll leave my next playthrough for when they releases a new mode with difficulty modifiers and differing goals and perhaps maybe a new class to play hopefuy with new DLC content but I'd be happy if they left this alone and went straight to a sequel all the same.

Bloodrayne 2. After a couple of stages. I wasted money. This game is a giant pile of shit. One of the worst action games I've ever played.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Picked up Earthion yesterday and what an awesome shmup! It's made by a studio named Ancient, which seem to have been huge supports of Sega in the early and mid 90s. Just pure 16-bit fun. From what it looks like, an actual Genesis cartridge of the game is supposed to be releasing next year.

And the OST by Yuzo Koshiro. I will play it when it comes to consoles and will buy the physical Genesis version next year.

Speaking of SEGA. In a Ninja mood so playing these amazing games. They need remasters.

Finished Sonic the Fighters (X360) and Dragon Ball Z Kakarot (NS)

Started on Shantae (NS)

Finally got to play Lies of P

Probably my favorite Dark Souls rip-off so far. Playing as a Victorian-era Pinocchio who looks like a twink? Count me in!

Most people will say it's actually a Bloodborne rip-off, since it's clearly based on Victorian-era aesthetics and even features an HP recovery mechanic. It also doesn't feature any kind of magic, though it does have attributes and builds dedicated to using a mechanical arm similar to Bloodborne's Bloodtinge stat except here they're actually good and fun to use instead of the train wreck dumpsterfire shit show they are in Bloodborne

When it comes to RPG elements, this game really shines. There are plenty of customization systems, weapons that are genuinely fun to use, and a mechanical arm with unique gimmicks that provide utility and break the boredom of spamming R1+R2 attacks over and over

But after 15 hours, I'm more inclined to say that although the mechanics and aesthetics scream Bloodborne, the actual combat reminds me more of Dark Souls, but not really reflex-based like DS3 or Elden Ring: it's more about positioning and good stamina management, just like DS1

The bosses are mostly slow, which is welcome since weight mechanics in this game are obnoxious as hell and the dodge system is so clunky it's ’s borderline useless, given how few i-frames it has

That leads to a problem: bosses take an insane amount of damage for a game that gives you so few and tight dodge windows. There are way too many delayed attacks, and if you don't press the dodge button at exactly the right moment, you'll get hit and lose half your HP

Not only that, the bosses are BORING. They're not mechanically difficult or interesting they’re just infuriating $amage sponges that can two- or three-shot you. Elden Ring is often criticized for bosses having too much HP, but at least that game is reflex-based with fairly generous dodge windows. This game doesn't have that leniency. I often don't say this but do yourself a favour and skip the original standard difficulty, play the current "normal" difficulty (which is easier than the original normal because it reduces damage taken)

Level design is okay nothing groundbreaking. A bit too linear for my taste, but serviceable. I really enjoy the lying system, though; it's a clever and unique way to emulate Dark Souls humanity mechanic, with its own flavor and excellent story-character-gameplay integration. The story and worldbuilding are cool… kind of. Many lore pieces are discovered by collecting materials and reading about them just like Dark Souls, I guess.

Overall really good game. I will probably play it again once I finish it, just to test a more advance-based build (builds more focused on special weapons the your left arm abilities)

Finished Killer7.
