It took decades but I am finally in on emulation on PC. Tho to be fair I had gateway drugs. We can count the legal way with Wii shop and Xbox Live back in the day. To getting a Polymega which is a emulation console that takes my legit discs and dumps the rom to a SSD. Then got a modded Dreamcast with GDEMU. Now fully in on console emulation on PC. Right now messing with PCSX2 on Linux. I downloaded like a 150GB of PS2 games. I have a dozen or so loaded. Using a Dualshock 4. Everything has been running well. Of course I fired up Berserk PS2 and what a good game. Right now just trying things out.

Just my 2 cents.  Retroarch works great on NES, SNES, N64, GC, Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, Turbo Graphix, Arcade, ps1.  Retroarch also works well with DS and 3DS, you can map analog button to switch screens.  PCSX2 works great for ps2.  CEMU is great for Wii-U.  Probably a few consoles missing, but I use three emulators and it covers most anything I can think of.

No idea if you are a Shining Force fan, but SFIII Scenario II and III have roms that are translated in english, which is amazing.

I play video games from very early 90's with 80's hardware like Amstrad & NES.
Noone will make me call tactical RPGs as "computer" RPGs since i have played a lot of computer RPGs that were action RPGs.
Also i have played some tactical Isometric RPGs in the PS1-PS2 era so they are not exclusive to PC.
I don't continue that convertation, it seems to me useless.

For those that emulate games Duckstation enhants the PS1 graphics, it is a big upgrade compared to ePSXe emulation for those who want to play PS1 games.

Just defeated the Demon of Envy in Nioh 3. I’ve not let a soulslike beat me yet.. I’ve not let a soulslike beat … I’ve not … I’ve not ….i’ve

Fun boss, but I was overgeared for it when I killed it. I let it kill me the first time, and then I slipped up the 2nd time, and beat it on 3rd try. Nioh 3 does have far more difficult bosses than Nioh 2 and Nioh though. I tilted on one the other day and it forced me to spend all of my prestige from the titles.

The problem is more that Demon of Envy was just in some random cave lol and just like Pride I was underleveled by around 20 levels (going off the level of the gear they both dropped), took like 14 attempts. Nioh 3 so far is far harder than Nioh 2 but that could also be because I’m using a traditional sword/deflect build 😇

Please play Khazan, I'd love to know what you think. Some people say it's easy however I found my first attempt at it's highest difficulty diabolical but regardless it is one of the best, I'd but it above Nioh 2 in both difficult and it's design also, only apart from a few roadblocks in Nioh 2 like the level with the paintings. Also, this is me on a level or two below recommended for both games but never over it and not using NPCs or help online.

If at some point this year I run out of things to play and there’s a month till my next game I’ll consider it :)

I am stubborn too and just use the Axe. NO MACE. I also don't block or deflect unless it is Kamaitachi. Self imposed challenge lol, but its fun.

Berserk PS2. Maybe the only legit good Berserk game (unless you count anything Souls which owes everything to Berserk) but only released in Japan. I do have the physical copy but not a Japanese PS2. So playing an English translated copy on PCSX2.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Started Dragon Quest 3 remake

Cute but looks, play, sound and even feel the same as every other entry

I like the fact you can customize your companions with personality mechanics and stats boosts, but in RPGs I like them to have agency, story and personality

XP curve is ass, takes forever to level up. The game is designed assuming you need to explore and fin things by yourself, which is nice really, but if you already knows where you need to go the game quickly turns into a grindfest where you need to going in circles scrapping for XP until things stop to two-shot you

Can't recommend it unless you are really a JRPG fan and is curious to see how thing were done in past, because otherwise I can list at least two dozen of better JRPGs than this
