If you have a PS5, it seems like a colossal waste of money unless you're rich or get a crazy trade-in value or selling price for your PS5.
For most people, it's not worth it unless you're upper-middle class and wealthier or game for your income (streamer, video maker, gaming journalist, etc.).

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 48 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

I see a lot of people that I know aren't upper middle class or barely middle class talking about selling there OG for the PRO, it's these poor souls I'm salty at Sony for the social media campaign they're waging to get this thing in a positive light. Alas, fools and their money are soon parted, just don't be fooled into thinking this thing is what will bring about the 'next gen" feeling.

There there is only one outcome where I buy this thing now the PSVR is dying. If games start to release in the state of Cyberpunk that are too ambitious for the base ps5 hardware and the playable polished game is in need of the hardware, specifically GTA6 and The Witcher 4 but I don't see R* making that mistake nor do I see CDPR repeating it and not many games of that calibre I wouldn't skip if it happened again unless everything that was releasing was making that mistake.GTA 6 is targeting 9th gen consoles first and PC later so I doubt this issue will arise.

GTA5 targeted 7th gen consoles first, I'm glad I waited for gen 8th version (even though R* at the time denied that was in the pipeline)

It will run better than CP2077 on PS4/XOne, but make no mistake, GTA6 is another 10+ year project and will be made with gen 10 in mind. The pro could definitely help there.

It's not a mistake for R*, it's extra money. The bigger the difference with next gen, the higher the chance people will double dip ;)

Why is that sony's fault?  People who spend money they don't have are making poor choices.

The NES launched at $200 in 1985. $700 is just a little over inflation...

You're missing the point or read the title and not the OP. I'm saying you won't be able to tell unless you get approx 4 times closer to the TV, this is great for a PC cause you're right up to then monitor but for an average TV at distance it means fuck all. I estimate you have to close two timed the reasonable distance to start to notice changes and 4 times the difference to really see the effect pay off, same way people have to zoom in to show the difference in comparison videos. Also, I'm saying at launch, sure it'll get better but right now it's pretty useless and especially useless for the price.

You can tell.
We aren't even at photo-realism on a 17" 720P display yet.

Yes the "clarity" of increased resolution due to the improved upscaler will have limited benefits to many due to the size of the display and the distance individuals sit from the display... This is a known quantifiable limitation that isn't subjective like you have otherwise implied prior in this thread.

But improved clarity due to higher resolution/upscaling is not the only benefit the Playstation 5 pro offers.

So the issue here isn't that I haven't read the Op or any posts... The issue here is that you didn't read my post which outlines the benefits.

It's just scummy to build a social media campaign in that way, it doesn't feel right, people can't tell bots apart from people these days and to mingle among the people and hype them up on shallow promises is ... just scummy.

It's a nice console with a notably better design than standard PS5. But it's $100 too expensive to me (or 200 AUD). I don't have a PS5 yet but I have access to my brother's.

It's a good thing that it exists, because millions of people will want one.

Reviews are in and many are saying what I said in the OP. The Verge says you meed a TV over 65 inches and to be close to it. Even at 65 inch and ten feet away it's not worth it and you won't see the difference. So what, gonna have to be like 70" at 8 foot or play on a monitor at a desk. 55 -65" are the most popular TV's in the US. 43 - 50 inch is the most common in Europe from what I can see. He says it's good though if you move closer and he wanted to move closer bit many aren't going to pull their couch to the TV for this. Gonna be a lot of disappointed people tomorrow.

From the Verge. https://www.theverge.com/reviews/24289319/ps5-pro-review
"Find your favorite seat in front of the TV, then measure the distance between your head and the screen. Now measure your screen diagonally. Do you own a 65-inch or 55-inch TV, the most popular sizes? Do you sit 10 feet away or more? Then no, the PS5 Pro is probably not worth $700. Not even if you have 20/20 vision like me. The improved visual fidelity just isn’t tangible enough at that distance"
