GTA5 targeted 7th gen consoles first, I'm glad I waited for gen 8th version (even though R* at the time denied that was in the pipeline)

It will run better than CP2077 on PS4/XOne, but make no mistake, GTA6 is another 10+ year project and will be made with gen 10 in mind. The pro could definitely help there.
It's not a mistake for R*, it's extra money. The bigger the difference with next gen, the higher the chance people will double dip ;)
