I love DD1 but DD2 is absolute shit and had no reason to run like shit either.

Even if input lag predictably takes a hit that won't be as big a deal for the average console gamer and a lot of them with 120hz tvs will wanna get use out of that increased refresh rate. It won't happen with the Switch 2 but it should happen for the system after that since that won't be coming out till 2032 at the earliest and way better ray tracing will be another selling point for the PS6 since path tracing will be possible on it.
The graphical arms race is over, Sony…please stop. Lol. Literally can’t even tell the difference anymore. I’ll have to look more into these specs of PS5 Pro…if it is legitimately competing with a nice PC, then I suppose $700 is acceptable. Granted, PC has far far more games than PS5 could ever dream…but for a luxury product intended for those who *really* want these nice PS5 graphics, then $700 makes sense. But I also don’t like the trend it sets: I’m not interested in pricing out consumers, and I know for a fact if PS5 Pro can pull it off, Sony will push their luck with PS6. :/

Its apparently alot less noticeable with a controller (than with a mouse).
Also if your running 120hz (60fps) and useing ways to mitigate the increased input delay, its basically a non issue, compaired to the gains.
(ei. it can reach the point of being "unnoticeable" to the avg gamer, and thats when people are trying to look for it, and people sensitive towards it).
Nintendo dont prioritise things you expect.
Stuff like AA doesn't mean much to them, even at this point in 2024. Most nintendo games on the Switch supposedly dont have any AA, and ones that do its like FXAA. (exception to the rule: Mario + Rabbids and Luigi's Mansion 3, should have some AA). Most Switch games struggle just hitting 1080p, so they dont waste resources on AA.
DLSS will be massive, and I dont see why Nintendo wouldn't use it with the Switch 2.
However I suspect frame gen, will be off putting to Nintendo (they are very purist and want to controll the look of games as much as possible).

Its closest competition GPU wise on PC is a 4070.
"if it is legitimately competing with a nice PC, then I suppose $700 is acceptable."
Thats basically what it is... unless you dont consider a PC with a GPU like that, a Nice PC.
A PC equal or better would be like 1300-1500$ imo.
It is a luxury item. All mid gen refreshes are.
The base model is still there.
Well, as expected, better than FSR, not as good as DLSS.
As a digression, for anyone thinking graphical race is over - I just watched Wild Robot...now, I want that kind of stylized reality in real time.

For the purist part hopefully that doesn't mean they refrain from offering performance vs quality modes in their games since the Switch 2 should be powerful enough to do that for some of them.
PSSR looks a bit too blurry and smooth currently, pretty sure we will see it being in great use with the PS6.
If there is one thing good about the PS5 Pro is that PSSR is being put to use now to help it mature for next gen.
A those gif comparisons even real?
The blur on base ps5 looks as bad as you would see in a 480p video lol

Watch this (go like 1m50s into it and look at PS5 vs PS5pro).
I suspect your refering to the Final Fantasy 7 rebirth gifs?
Yes it runs at a very low resolution on the base PS5 for some reason (1080p vs 4k).
Stuff like Ghosting on TAA is also gone with PSSR on the PS5pro.
Stuff in the distance like trees no longer go transparent and shimmer...
Its just a massive difference in this game.
This is "Smooth performance" mode of FF7 rebirth.... vs the PS5pro mode.
Because the PS5pro is putting out 60fps, they compair it to the high fps PS5 mode.
55 inch OLED and I sit 7 ft away. I cannot tell the difference between 4k native versus 4k quality. Even if my gpu can handle 4k native I tend to do quality, keeps temps down.
Edit
The big gains moving forward isn't still pictures but motion. 60 fps is so much better than 30 fps. 120 fps craps all over 60 fps. I don't think people realize how much fps impact gameplay. Accuracy skyrockets at 120 fps over 30 fps. The ps6 will likely start pushing high fps.
I played RE4 remake at 60 fps and averaged 70% accuracy. A year later I played at 120 fps and averaged 100 to 120 fps.
