Forums - Politics Discussion - Concord is Sony's biggest failure in gaming history.

https://steamdb.info/app/2443720/charts/

242 players right now on Steam... on Sunday afternoon in Europe!

But let's also not forget this https://steamdb.info/app/1599660/charts/

Sackboy only peaked at 610 players on Steam.

Hogwarts, Wukong, stellar blade, first descendant

Vs.

Concord, dustborn, suicide squad

One group rejected the writing consultants despite them trying to "terrify them" and they benefited greatly with their success largely attributed to staying out of the culture war bs. The other decided to go full boar into and we see the result.

Babylon's Fall, Redfall

Vs.

Helldivers 2, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

One group rejected the idea of putting the word 'fall' in the title. The other went full board into it and we see the result.

*Conveniently Ignores God of War Ragnarök, Spider-Man 2 and Alan Wake.*

Never heard of the First Descendant, it currently sits at 55% on Steam...

Suicide Squad is the first game in existence to sell bad because it's average.

You people must look under your bed at night for SBI, Lmao. They're a goddamn consultancy agency with less than ~20 employees, they do not have anywhere near as major of an impact as your paranoid delusions lead you to believe, here's what happens, a developer implements something, they ask SBI if this has been implemented well, they offer their advice and the developer decides whether they want to take it. But this boogey-man is now the new thing to blame for any reason why any game is bad or fails because you're desperate to spread your hate and make everyone as bitter as yourself.

Concord has done bad because while it is seemingly an "okay-good" title based on what I've heard, that isn't good enough in a market this competitive, Hogwarts Legacy, Wukong, Stellar Blade are SP titles. Concord is competing with some of the biggest multiplayer titles in history which to this date still have millions of people playing them, Concord is competing with F2P titles with millions of players from household name studios as a $40 title from a studio nobody has never heard of with a brand new IP. Concord had poor marketing and released in quite an unfortunate time.

How do you convince Overwatch players to pay $40 to try out Concord instead of them just continuing to play Overwatch? When you don't offer nothing new or revolutionary to the genre, why would people abandon those titles they've spent years in to move over to yours? But oh my bad, it must be none of that, it's because they put a black lady in the game /s.

Btw, SBI had nothing to do with Concord.

Concord sort of reminds me of Bleeding Edge...

Anyway I think they need to make it F2P ASAP...They can't hope to compete with these massive F2P titles as a $40 title...

But even that won't save it I don't think...But it's worth a shot, something needs to be done.

Didn't SBI also threaten Gamescience that if they don't pay $7mil to SBI for thier 'services' then they will drag the game through mud via journalism?

Who is SBI to consult a Chinese dev on their own culture? Ridiculous!

It was a claim from a random blogger on Weibo, it wasn't from Gamescience themselves or any developer that worked on Black Myth. They're a Chinese company, CCP already tightly regulates their Chinese companies without Western interference, Lol. SBI would have no hope of getting around CCP even if they tried and wanted to.

SBI has around 16 employees including the CEO, they do not have as much power as everyone gives them credit for, consultancy groups like SBI have existed for dozens of years but this is the new target to blame as to why certain games are bad (despite the fact, SBI was involved in Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2 and Alan Wake 2), in 5 years from now it'll be a different consultancy group.

Most gaming companies in the West can barely get into China without caving to all of their demands due to the stranglehold CCP has over the market and how aggressively they regulate it. Don't you dare criticise the CCP and their authority, don't you dare mention Taiwan or Free Kong Kong. Black Myth of course is safe from this as a single-player title, online titles are not, China censors the living fuck out of those, Lol.

SBI is a studio of 16 people, utterly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, they aren't the President of the United States, Lol. They cannot bully billion $ companies and they sure as shit cannot get around the CCP. People are giving them FAR too much credit and just using them as a direction of their hatred for bad games because they need something to blame.

Also, this is off-topic anyway, SBI has nothing to do with Concord.

The characters seem to be moving very slowly, even the tank that should be slow seems extra slow. And it shows when you see gameplay from someone on the other end, a jump looks like they are moving through molasses and easily Killable. At any rate I don't see why it matters much how it's doing on steam, Sony could be marketing this via the store and have it popping off with casuals for all we know, on steam it's just another game in the thousands that release every year.

This game was in development for 8 years.

Game flops:

"Why aren't people buying this game?"

Gamers: "Well, I didn't buy it because this and that"

"Hmm..  nah..  you are just in a loud minority"

Next flop comes in:

"Why aren't people buying this game?"

Ehh, Sony is allowed to have a flop here and there. Same as anyone else. It's really the only way to learn from mistakes.
