Congrats to Super Mario Wonder selling 11.71M!
And Super Mario RPG for surpassing the SNES original!

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 160 million (was 120 million, then 140 million, then 150 million)

PS5: 130 million (was 124 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 54 million (was 60 million, then 57 million)

The Switch's sales this quarter surprised me, after the November sales reports in the U.S & Europe showing the Switch sales way down, I expect the Switch to just barely sell 6M and maybe fall short of 6M and their overall 15M goal for the FY, but they sold nearly 7 Million which definitely surprised me and it's crazy how the Switch still has this level of momentum in year 7. Now at 139M and imo will likely sell 16M for the FY which is barely a drop off compared to 17.9M last FY. Now I'm a bit more confident in its chances of outselling the DS & PS2. FY profits are also up 15% compared to past year, there is definitely little rush for Nintendo to release a successor when the Switch is still more than healthy.

Mario Wonder selling 12M is exactly what I expected, and will definitely make it to 20M fairly soon at this rate, Mario does amazing with evergreen numbers

MK8 now at 60.5M, including the Wii U version its at 69M, its only 6M away from Surpassing Pubg to become the 3rd greatest selling game in history, which is guaranteed to happen at this point

Switch is on track to reach (more like surpass) 15M forecast before March 31 2024.

*sorry that was a low level comment. so now i want to add more.

I predict by March 31, 2024 the Switch will have shipped 143.51M.

The Switch needs to ship 0.47M more units to reach their 15M. They most likely reached that by mid-January.

Great hardware numbers! A difference of over 3m has me wondering if VgChartz could be undertracked in some of the regions.

MK8 just never slowing down. It finally reached the high end of my lofty 50-60m prediction from way back when most people were still discussing if it could reach MK Wii.

A good start for Wonder I would say though it doesn't live up to some people's predictions. Judging by its performance on charts it should have a great second quarter so I don't think it will be too long before it hits 15m.

Edit: Also daym they're already at 1.2b software! Feels like they just crossed a billion.

Oh really! Well done Nintendo, though I think that bar is low. They could've put it to 16 or even 17M

In order to reach 15.5M, they only need to ship 0.97M units. And mostly likely will reach that by the end of Jan 2024.

Regional YoY Q3 shipments

Japan 2.09m > 1.56m (-25%)
Americas 3.07m > 2.82m (-8%)
Europe 2.42m > 1.99m (-18%)
Others .65m > .53m (-19%)
Total 8.23m > 6.90m (-16%)

The first FY quarter with clear declines in every region. Most notable decline was Japan with the lack of more Japanese focused games for the holidays.  America holds up well but NPD already indicated a strong December for the Switch at least.
