Well, it's sort of somewhat improved port of PS4 version, but yeah, it's kinda strange that it runs that low - which would be fine if it used "proper" DLSS upscale to 1440p, but it's not using it.

I guess CP2077 have shown how proper port can look like (though not all is sunshine in that version), but it seems that not a lot of publishers are willing to spend more time=money to go that extra mile, like CDPR did.

I feel like the biggest bottleneck with Cyberpunk was actually storage latency... Which is why performance was dog crap on Xbox One/Playstation 4, but extremely competent on Switch 2, even if there were concessions made.

I should probably Install Cyberpunk 2077 on my Xbox One which I have upgraded the internal storage to an SSD (Which is faster than Switch 2) to see how it compares... I would imagine the CPU would come up short, especially as it needs to handle all the decompression stuff, which the Switch 2 can natively accelerate without using CPU cycles.

Yeah, SSD certainly plays significant role. Though, I'm guessing that PS4/XONE having Patch 1.6 as their latest, as opposed to newer consoles receiving additional patches (currently 2.3), with patch 2.0 being a big thing for better CPU performance, plays quite a bit of role there as well.

So FFVII R 40fps was misinformation from show floor staff...

I think people shouldn't always take any news from them with a massive grain of salt.

Yeah, in a way I'm not surprised. Glad it is a stable 30 fps.

Rebirth on Switch better get camera motion blur. PS5's 30fps mode was unplayable to me (and I played it after TotK on Switch).

Rebirth is gonna be an interesting case as a quite lavish current-gen-only release.

Hopefully Square give it the Dragon Quest 11 S treatment and carefully rework it to still look and run decently on portable hardware, instead of just hacking away at resolution and settings.

Wasn't the "DQXI S treatment" pretty much a death wish for Iwata? I don't think they will bother to make a custom made version of Rebirth for the Switch 2 just because.

I can't tell the difference between 30FPS and 60FPS unless the frame rate dips. I'm looking forward to FF7R on Switch 2.

I am curious to see how it runs, and it will give a great idea of where the hardware sits.  I am not sure what to expect, given the ps5 struggling with performance mode but on PC the game ran brilliantly.  It was one of the better PC ports I've played in a long while.

I'll personally be surprised if they do any customization.  I expect 30 fps, rendering around 720p (hopefully not less) with a reduction in draw distance/NPC density/foliage density/lighting/shadows.

Rebirth's upscaler on base PS5 is garbage, hence the massive difference in image quality between it and PS5 Pro (PSSR). I expect Switch 2 30fps to look much sharper than PS5 60fps.

Very likely.  The biggest problem with AMD is their upscaling tech is god awful.  Hopefully next gen has FSR 4 and consoles finally have good upscaling.  Same goes with mobile PC devices like Steam Deck 2, it really needs FSR 4.  DLSS is so far ahead of the older FSR systems.
