Forums - Nintendo - If Nintendo waits a long time for a Switch successor, what do you think will happen?

That is true but I think it depends on what the hardware pushes in terms of physics, loading, etc.  The current switch could be limited by something other than graphics.

The main portion of Elden is superb.  The "off the beaten path" optional stuff was garbage.  So I liked it, 7 out of 10 for me, but I didn't think it deserved the praise it got.  Demon and Dark 1 and 3 are much better.  Personal preference but I loathe lazy filler in games.  Elden had a lot of fluff.

Yea anything is possible. interesting to see nintendo actually pushes impressive graphics again. i'm sure zelda will but not sure about the others.

My main complaint is the story, and lack of compelling characters. like just give me a story and some side quests that make sense, but the combat and the variety on enemies is just insane. the world is awesome to explore as well with beautiful art. I also feel like i wanna level up and kill everything. 67 hours in just beat margot omen king. Been trying to kill the crucible knight duo for 2 hours did you ever kill them?

Yeah I took out all the bosses in the game and hit something like 150 hours.

Nice, you must be really skilled cause they are cheap as heck.

Some of the summons make life a lot easier.  The ghost spirits or whatever they called.

yea after 67 hours and getting stuck on the  crucible knight duo, i'm looking up how to use summons lol. I'm really surprise the game scored so high as well. For me it's amazing cause i love the boss fights and the thrill of finally beating a challenging boss, i also love exploring the world, but with the story being so bad, and the difficulty being really hard i would think it be around 90 and not 96. NPC side quests are so hard to figure out with out  a guide as well like dogman/bladd tells me to meet him in city and the city is huge, you would think he would tell me what part.

Switch is coming 165 million I don’t care why you guys think

That is pretty unlikely, unless

1. Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder cause a massive hardware sales boost.

2. Switch 2 doesn't launch until Q1 2026 or later

3. Nintendo slashes the price of Switch models in 2024 or 2025, especially if it's before a successor is unveiled.

Switch is all but guaranteed to surpass 140 million, and it could match the DS or PS2. 160 million or above still seems quite optimistic.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

More signs the next Nintendo hardware is not that far off, Activision president says he has spoken to Nintendo about their next-gen hardware and already knows its approximate power profile:

If Nintendo is openly discussing the system with 3rd parties, it means dev kits are probably not far behind.

Switch 2 near the ps4 in power will be something else.

Kotick also said he underestimated the Switch and regrets not putting COD on it, so COD on Switch 2 sounds sorta confirmed even if there is no MS deal.

Docked performance of Nintendo games potentially higher than a PS4 with DLSS is going to be quite a nice combo.

Isn't this a nothing-burger that people on the internet are running with?

“Given closer alignment of Gen 8 platforms and our previous offerings on PS4 and Xbox One, it’s reasonable to assume we can make something compelling for NG [next-gen] Switch as well.”

Looks to me like this is worded in the way of "If A is true, then B could become true as well."

EDIT: On ResetEra their thread is called "Bobby Kotick Assumes". That's what I thought.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

150m is the floor and 165m is the ceiling. Anything lower than 150m is expecting a colossal collapse in sales.

This is assuming the successor comes out holiday 2024, of course.
