The slow rise in Switch sales over the last couple of weeks is a pleasant surprise this would be a healthy baseline for the Switch right now.

PS5 sales drop again but not too harshly. It's also important to remember that even in the PS4's peak year in Japan it was only averaging around 22k a week in the equivalent quarter ahead. So yes the 90k a week sales were never going to be sustainable but if you're disappointed by sales dropping down to this level your expectations were unrealistic.

Xbox has had three low weeks in a row even by XBS standards. Not sure if this is an issue with stock, demand or Famitsu posting lower numbers because it has overtracked it in the past.

RE4 First 2 weeks = 210,147
RE Village First 2 weeks = 191,012

Well, I think I lost my bet that the ps5 would be first to 1 million sales in Japan this year

Still optimistic that it will do 2.5 million sales for the year though

the ps5 should only see a significant increase again in june with final fantasy xvi. Even so, I believe that the ps5 will have a good year in Japan, I still believe that it can reach 5 million in total later this year.

PS5 will definitely have a very good year in Japan but reaching 5m by the end of 2023 would be phenomenal and personally an unrealistically high target imo. Matching PS4's best year in Japan would put PS5 at 4.31m by the end of the year, so beating PS4's peak by 700k would be huge.

I'm pretty confident it will be the best year for a PS Home Console since 2005 but I'm thinking more in the 2-2.2m range than 2.6m.

Maybe I'm being too conservative but we will see how the sales over the next few weeks fall. I'm expecting them to drop into the low 20's.

I am so happy for another Switch victory

Switch!!!

Kirby still doing good even if it is the third Kirby game on switch.

That ends a relatively nutty three month stretch of Japanese sales. The next few months will be far, far more tame in comparison with the two main points of interest being the impact of Tears of the Kingdom and FF16.

This is actually baffling, I don't understand the strong legs of this particular Kirby

Besides these obviously
