Forums - Gaming Discussion - Games that personify/define a console to you

You know when there's that one game that becomes almost synonymous with a given video game system, where it's the first game that springs to mind when you think of that system and vice versa, where the game becomes an icon for that console?

What are some of yours?

NES - Super Mario Bros. 3

SNES - Super Mario World

N64 - Super Smash Bros.

PS1 - Crash Bandicoot 3

PS2 - God of War II

GC - Luigi's Mansion

3DS - Mario Kart 7

Wii - Super Smash Bros. Brawl

WiiU - Super Mario 3D World (Or Mario Kart 8, not sure)

Most of those were the first games I played on the system, so that's why I relate.

For me it’s a tossup between Super Mario 64 on N64 or Halo: Combat Evolved for Xbox in terms of most iconic standout titles that defined their respective platforms.

NES - Super Mario Bros 3
Gameboy - Mystic Quest
Mega Drive - Sonic 2

PSX - Xenogears
N64 - Goldeneye 007
Dreamcast - Skies of Arcadia
PS2 - GTA Vice City
GBA - FF4 Advance
DS - Dragon Quest 5, 9, and the Ace Attorney trilogy
Wii - Xenoblade Chronicles, Galaxy, or Virtual Console
PS3 - Assassin’s Creed 2
3DS - Mario Kart 7
Vita - Xenogears
