The Horizon multiplayer project is going to do some crazy numbers.

I wouldn't be surprised if this franchise hits 100M+ sold units before SpiderMan or The Last of Us. Its actually insane how Horizon is talked about in online spaces like Era or Reddit. But then you find out it attracts more female gamers and it all makes sense lol.

I feel like overall people underestimate how leggy some of these first party titles are because Sony doesn't give us regular sales updates. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if SpiderMan 2018 was approaching, or has surpassed, 30M+ units sold.

My biggest wish for this game is for Aloy to not be the focus of it. I think the franchise is good enough to keep going once Aloy story ends so this could be the perfect game to start offering experiences beyond Aloy.

I also think that move could erase some of the poison social media has put in games with female protagonists and that in the long run could benefit the sales of Horizon 3.

Ya I wonder if they'll keep focusing on Aloy or not, because up until the latest DLC, most people were fine with Aloy and the franchise, though there were those that wondered if PS/GG was potentially working towards making her and the franchise woke. After what takes place in the HFW DLC, those suspicious of that story direction were like, 'ah ha, I knew it', and it spread enough that many took notice.

How many really care or not, or at least care enough to dislike and refuse to play the franchise games going forward because of that is hard to say, but HFW also hasn't taken off and greatly expanded the franchise like some would've hoped or expected, so who knows. There's no doubt other obvious reasons why it may not have far outsold HZD, but how much has to do with the more recent story direction is something to take into account. Then again, PS/GG may not care and may just go ahead and continue as they have anyway, or possibly they'll give the franchise a break for a while, kinda like what they seem be doing after TLOU2. If SNY allows ND to make TLOU3, and Druckmann just gets to continue the story as he wishes, then I don't see why GG couldn't or wouldn't be able to continue progressing with Aloy's story as is.

So hyped for this!

Lost Soul Aside looks... meh.

Can't understand the hype some have for it, looks like Devil May Cry but far less interesting, would rather play Stellar Blade or Devil May Cry V. Even Black Myth Wukong looked more fun, and it wasn't specially attractive either.

I've continued my Uncharted playthrough onto 2 and 3.  About a quarter of the way through Uncharted 3.

I could write an essay about Uncharted. Minor spoilers ahead.

I really enjoyed the remaster of Uncharted 1. One thing that really stood out during my playthrough though, is that unlike Uncharted 2 that has a lot of stealth sections, Uncharted 1 feels like it despises stealth. A lot of the encounters start off with Nate being seen. Uncharted 2 doesn't have the best stealth, but it feels serviceable enough that the game encourages it.

I absolutely love Uncharted 2. It is so nice when you come back to a game years later, and you still enjoy it.

Uncharted 2 feels so darn inspired, compared to the other Uncharted games.

You start in the middle of the adventure, and flash back to the start.

You have this whole chapter where you are in a peaceful village where no one speaks your language.

You go cave spelunking with one of those villagers and largely don't have many fights.

And I love the visuals, there is almost this painting aesthetic to it.

Uncharted 2 is such an absurd improvement over the first, in ways I didn't even notice until playing them back to back.

Uncharted 2 makes better use of verticality. Most of the fights in the first game, with maybe a couple exceptions are on pretty flat ground. Whereas with the second game, you're frequently making use of higher ground or lower ground. A couple of fights where you are climbing around the cliff around the edge of an arena and pulling people down.

I'm not even sure that the later games do quite as much in this regard. But I still need to replay them.

Uncharted 2 to me, feels like a big example of the kinds of games that have kind of disappeared.

There are lots of AA games that I feel like should be targeting something like this, but instead it feels like a lot of games are going for bigger more bloated experiences.

I'm in the early part of Uncharted 3, and it's very good. It brings in a lot of great new mechanics like ropes are more dynamic, and you can vault over a cliff and sneak take down someone.

But I don't like it as much. There's a looser feel to the mechanics. In a lot of instances, Drake kind of helps out more. Like when you're in a fight, Drake will move a lot further to reach someone.

When you're grabbing someone and dragging them around, it feels like you move quicker than you should.

Just overall, Uncharted 3 doesn't have the tightness that I loved from Uncharted 2.

This take is invalid if you thought FF16 was great given how brainless and simple the combat was.  This game has actual mechanics and depth to the combat if you followed the development.

I am very much looking forward to Lost Soul Aside because of what I've seen as well but from the outside looking in, I can see how it can come of as uninspired.

I was trying to get a friend to check it out once it's released but he had the same reaction as the above

Where did you take FF16 from? I mentioned 3 games and none were it.

I remember a trailer for it like 10 years ago, it looked amazing for an one person project as it once was, but it's 2025 and only now it's getting released... it certainly doesn't impress watching the last trailer and it's still just showing the guy hitting and hitting mobs with the sword...

Maybe the game will turn out good, maybe the combat is good, who knows, but it doesn't hype me a single bit.

Gonna be honest, I'm rooting for LSA to score decently and sell well enough.

But I can't say the footage makes me interested enough to buy it.

So the PS5 will likely be the 1st $499 console to reach 100 million units huh?

Still wondering when Sony will announce the discontinuation of PS4. It could've been discontinued in 2023 or 2024.
