Actually Helldivers has a good chance if done right. Starship Troopers is a cult classic for their commentary about society and politics. Helldivers has a little of that but their current popularity lands in the action, if they want to make it a satire that's ok but the main focus has to be make something fun and crazy to watch, like old 90s movie kind of fun.

As much as I love Helldivers I know the playerbase of HD2 is basically COD players who just want to shoot stuff and don't want commentary of anything so there is not point in even trying to give what Starship Troopers already did. For the old guys who loved ST for the commentary well they should focus in the other half of ST, the fact that the only good bug is a dead bug.

I can just very easily see the sentiment being, "Why? Why does a Starship Troopers knockoff need a movie when the move it aped already exists?" If they do it right it could stand on its own (maybe crank up the dark comedy) or simply serve as a long awaited spiritual successor, but I could also much easier see it being superfluous.

Anyway, I had not heard those cast details about the Tsushima anime. Much more excited for that.

I mean it's age alone warrants a modern iteration, there's a whole generation who have for the most part not been exposed to it

Hopefully the people behind TLOU season 2 do a better job protecting Kaitlyn from g*mers than ND did protecting Laura.

Not that I don't despise the backlash she got, but what should ND have done?

With the imminent announcement of the Switch 2 (if there is anything left to reveal because everyday something else leaks lol) and the xbox show in the third week of January, when do you want the first State of Play?

a) At the end of January like in 2024.
b) In late February like from 2021 to 2023.

Personally I like the February SoP tradition so I wish they keep it and the only thing I would expect from that show would be Ghost of Yotei release date. With the delay of AC it would be mad funny if Yotei releases in April, Infamous vs Prototype 2.0.

They aren't called Sucker Punch for nothing lol.

Give me that late January State of Play!

From all accounts it looks like Astro Bot had a strong holiday season. I wouldn't be surprised if its sitting around 3M+ unit sales right now.

Reading about Bungie's "Project Gummy Bears" and it sounds so intriguing.

A PvP team based MOBA, inspired by Smash, with lo - fi vibes targeting younger audiences? Talk about rounding out your family friendly part of the portfolio lol. It's been in development for three years, so it could end up being a cross gen release for the PS6 launch period.

Wild guess for that number?

3 right now sounds a little high but I wouldn't be surprised if it's 3 by the end of business year (end of march). In the amazon of my country it's almost sold out for the 4th time since release but my country isn't the biggest ps market out there.

Yeah it sounds quite fun. I'm always in for a good MOBA that offers more than just a clone of League.

I don't know if it will attract young people because a lot of kids these days are monsters that only want to shoot stuff BUT cozy games are peaking recently so I can totally see me playing it and it getting an audience. They should have the priority of not releasing it in the same year Valve releases their shooter-moba thing. Valve is famous for killing their own games so there is no need to rush the Gummy Bears lol.

When the news broke about how Sony saved that specific team by making them a new PS Studio I wasn't sure how much work 40 people could make but Asobi has like 60 people and the DOTA development team at Valve has 50 so I think the team will keep working following their original plan.

Yeah, maybe a bit optimistic lol.
