Forums - Sony Discussion - PlayStation Nation |OT| Playing Astro Bot on the Horizon Until Dawn

The digital PS5 is on sale for $379.99 until December 24. It's a little bit different from the leaked Black Friday ad though.

A permanent price cut next year may finally be on the way. However, I do wonder if Sony will have periodical discounts on hardware instead. It actually seems more likely with their premium pricing strategy this gen.

I really hope Sony figures out a way to play PS3 games natively. Getting Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 announced to be releasing next week and remembering they're streaming only really puts a damper on my excitement lol. At least I still get to enjoy Resistance: Retribution!

Fingers crossed. While it is tough to emulate PS3 games, it's possible for at least a few dozen at minimum if Sony went for it. Cloud streaming for PS3 games is not sustainable, as I don't see how it will be worth the money and effort in the long term on Sony's part for PS3 streaming to survive into the 2030s.

So seems like Lego Horizon has scored around the 7/10 range.

Based on what I've read it seems to be what I thought it was going to be. I really wish they went for a gameplay loop similar to Minecraft Dungeon in regard to level randomizing plus ever-increasing level caps. But I suppose that is something they can look into if they do a 2nd game, which I hope they do.

That said, I'll def get it on discount: I don't need it right now to play with my kid. They're too enthralled by Tren (Dreams) so I'm fine with that.

I looked at some videos and I really loved Aloy being more cheerful on that game, made me happy to be honest.

But the game does look quite linear and easy, I suppose it's good for kids and they are the core target for it, but being one of Sony's biggest IPs the audience for the IP would understandbily expect quite a bit more from it. Even more as a full price game.

Kind of a sticky situation to expect both to accept it well as it is, should get a decent price cut and put a big focus to reach the younger lego audience, fully embracing the niche.

I'm curious about Lego Horizon, I still suspect Sony overestimate the Horizon IP & that the Lego format here is a bit missed opportunity that good be used to grow a more fitting & or underutilised IP.

Although I wouldn't describe Ratchet as underutilised I think it would of translated into more compelling game ideas + given Rift Apart a nice boost

Astro Bot was nominated for several categories in TGA, might win some of them, doubt it can compete for the GOTY.
But pretty cool to see more love for the game.

Ratchet and Clank in LEGO form would be great.
